The mother of a British man who has been missing for almost a year after he has disappeared on a walk in Sardinia, says that she feels 'completely disappointed' by the Italian police.
Michael Frison, 25, from Chard, in Somerset, disappeared after a trek in the Luras countryside on July 13.
He had extended his stay on the island to meet Pal Niomi Orlandini, 27, from Jersey who was the last person who saw him alive.
Michael's deeply sad mother, Cristina Pitalis, 49, said that the couple met online in July 2023 before joining his journey on the Italian island a year later.
Cristina, who was born in Italy, has now criticized the police of her own country and said she wish it was British authorities who had led the investigation into his disappearance.
She had to keep the possessions of her own son in a bag and criticized the authorities to return his friend's passport
“I can't even imagine how Jay Slater's mother would have felt when her son was missing and she could not communicate in Spanish,” she told the sun.
“I can communicate with the police and they have done absolutely nothing – they have been useless.”

Mr. Frison, who grew up in Bristol, had visited his grandparents as he did volunteer work on the north side of the Mediterranean at that time

Cristina said that the last message she received from her son was the night before he was missing and said he would call her tomorrow and end it with an 'I love you emoji'.
Mr. Frison, who grew up in Bristol, had visited his grandparents while at the time he was volunteering on the north side of the Mediterranean Sea area of the Mediterranean.
He and Niomi left the house of his grandparents on July 12 to 'volunteer work on a farm in the hinterland of Gallura'.
But two days later, Cristina received a Facebook message from Niomi and told her that she had to call the landowner and said that Michael had gone for Walkbut in a 'confused state'.
“After resting, he took up again and did not return,” she said
She [Niomi] Found his clothes, but personal belongings were all behind. '
Cristina says that they never contacted emergency services about her son and when she floated away to help with the search, they told her that he disappeared 'only wore his pants'.
Only two weeks after his disappearance, the Italian authorities suspended their search.
Cristina says she has not had Niomi a response since she left the island, but I am 'I accuse her of nothing'.

Michael's mother shared a photo of him in July in a plea for help with local searches

The mother revealed in October that it was 'out of character' for her son to disappear without contacting his family. She traveled to the island six times in an attempt to find him.
She has previously argued for Michael's friend Niomi, who he allegedly met on the island because she believes that the wife has details about his place of residence.
“I need you, Niomi. I need your help. You didn't do anything wrong, “Cristina begged:” However, you were the last person who was with Michael. '
A fundraising has been set up to try to raise money to get volunteers to Sardinia in search of Mr. Frison's. It has collected more than £ 8,000 so far.
Organizer Evie Baker wrote: 'Michael had recently arrived at a volunteer site in Sardinia and set up his tent on arrival.
“Felt unwell and not used to the intense heat of 40 ° C, he got water and decided to rest. After waking up, Michael said he was going to take a walk, but tragically never returned.
“When he woke up, he said he was going to walk and now he is unfortunately missing.
“I can't tell you how really beautiful this family is, I am absolutely deeply saddened for them.”
