It is one of the rarest ways you can score a goal, and it is more humiliation for a Buffalo Sabres team that is intended to have the longest play -off drought in hockey.
Down 3-2 to the Utah Hockey Club in Salt Lake City, the Sabres de Puck had in the attacking zone with a man benefit due to an empty net.
For Utah's net, defender Bowen Byram drew a penalty for high-sticking. That meant that the piece would stop if a Utah player hit the puck. So, essentially, the only way they could score a goal is like a Sabres player scored a goal.
And that is exactly what happened. Buffalo Star Tage Thompson tried to find defender Rasmus Dahlin at the top of the lock, but raged it wide.
The puck woke the shelves in the perfect corner and perfect pace to be not only faster than Dahlin, but moves straight over the goal line for an empty net own goal.
Technically, there are nothing in the score sheet in Hockey. The goal is therefore credited to the player in the score team that it was last. In this case, Kevin Stenlund of Utah was credited with the non -supported goal.

The humiliation was not enough for Buffalo, because they would continue to leave another empty net goal with 19 seconds in the game to lose 5-2.
Fans on social media responded to the terrible happiness that the Sabres had – and apparently have been staying for decades.

A fan of Sabres said: 'Above that with [Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic] This year scoring a goalkeeper goal on them. The Memes team. '
“Oh hockey gods, oh hockey gods, what have we done to earn this and what can we do to reverse this?” A Sabres fan wondered.
Another Buffalo Sports fan said: 'How does [Sabres general manager] Kevyn Adams still has a job this morning? I love [head coach] Lindy [Ruff]But how does he still have a job after this? Can anyone in the @buffalosabres actually be ashamed and do something about it for once? '
The Sabres are the last death in the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference and currently have the fourth worst points in the NHL.
Buffalo will miss the Stanley Cup -Play -offs for a 14th consecutive season -since 2011 no longer appeared in the late season.
