The body of a woman was found in the ocean on a popular beach near Melbourne.
The body was discovered by the local population on SEAFORD Beach, from the Nepean Highway in Frankston, at 6.55 am Friday.
Emergency services were immediately called on site where the police quickly founded a crime scene.
A second place crime was also founded on a separate beach south of the area where various suspicious items appeared to have been washed ashore.
Detectives try to find out if the items are related to the woman.
“A second place crime is on Frankston Beach Front after a number of items were established,” said the spokesperson.
“The police are investigating whether they are linked to the death of the woman.”
The woman still has to be identified and officers have said it is too early to determine whether death is suspected or not.

Detectives were seen from home-to-door that interrogate residents after the discovery, according to the publication.
The woman's body will be subject to a post-mortem examination to find out her cause of death.
