The Commonwealth, whose countries have a total population of more than 2.7 billion, is one of the oldest political associations in the world in the world.
It consists of 56 Member States, the vast majority of which are former areas of the British Empire. They are connected by their use of the English language and historical-cultural ties.

The move will be generally seen as a huge boost for the 'special relationship' between the US and the UK.
It comes at a time when America's relationship with the European Union has fallen to a low point.
Trump has repeatedly applied the EU and threatened with mass rates.
Trump and the king have maintained a close relationship, even after Trump has left the White House. The two often exchanged letters.
The Commonwealth proposal was originally driven in the first term of Trump, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth, who worshiped Trump.
Now the British are making a new life plan to expand the invitation with the hope that the king will personally do the case if the president and the First Lady will pay their state visit to the UK later this year.
“This is discussed at the highest level,” a member of the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) told DailyMail.com: “It would be a wonderful move that would symbolize the close relationship of Great Britain with the US.
'Donald Trump loves Great Britain and has a lot of respect for the royal family, so we believe he would see the benefits of this. Associate membership can, hopefully, be followed by full membership, making the Commonwealth even more important as a global organization. '
The source added: “The Commonwealth is also a great forum for solving differences between countries, and the king has shown that he is a natural peacemaker.”
Trump is an old fan of the British royal family. Prime Minister Keir Starmer used that to his advantage when he visited the White House earlier this month.
Starmer delivered the king's letter personally during a meeting with the Trump in the Oval Office.
In it, the King Trump invited personally to pay a state visit to the VK later this year, a rare second invitation for an American president. Trump paid a state visit in his first term when Queen Elizabeth II was on the throne.
Trump waved the letter in front of the cameras and accepted the invitation in a big way.
He described the king as a 'beautiful man'.

The invitation to become a member of the Commonwealth can also cool the voltage around Canada.
Trump has repeatedly said that he wants to make Canada the 51st state. The country is part of the Commonwealth.
The conversation about turning has created enormous tensions and brought the king into an uncomfortable position. Canada is one of the 15 countries from which he is head of state.
This week he met the new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in London, in what many interpreted as a show of support.
Canada looks at the king as their head of state and head of the Commonwealth, to speak for them and to ward off Trump.
The king also organized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zensky in Sandringham after Trump and Zensky fell during a disastrous meeting in the Oval Office.
Trump is said to be irritated by the king's movement.

The royals have trumped Trump as part of their role in maintaining a strong relationship between the US and the UK.
Prince William met him in Paris shortly after Trump won the 2024 elections when the two were in France before the reopening of the cathedral of Notre Dame.
“I was very impressed by William. I think William is great, “Trump said after their meeting.
Trump has openly admired the royal family and is known as enthusiastic for another state visit and the entire attributes that it entails, including a coach ride the shopping center and a shimmering banquet in Buckingham Palace.
For the UK, the king and the royal family can use their 'soft diplomacy' to pursue the president, who pushes 25% steel and aluminum rates as part of his trade war.
