The government of Donald Trump will withdraw the temporary legal status of 530,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans in the United States.
The announcement was made by the Department of Homeland Security Chief Kristi Name on a notification to a federal register on Friday, the latest expansion of his performance against immigration.
The order applies to around 532,000 people from the four countries who have come to the United States since October 2022 under a program called CHNV for which the Biden administration was heavily criticized.
They arrived with financial sponsors and received two -year permits to live and work in the US
State that they will lose their legal status on April 24 or 30 days after the publication of the notification in the federal register.
The new policy influences people who are already in the US and under the humanitarian conditional release program.

DHS said that conditional release without a legal basis to stay in the US must leave before their conditional termination date.
“Parole is inherently temporary and only conditional release is not an underlying basis for obtaining an immigration status,” said DHS.
Before the new order, the beneficiaries of the program could stay in the US until their conditional release ends, although the administration had stopped processing their requests for asylum, visas and other requests that could make them stay longer.
The decision of the administration has already been challenged for federal courts.
A group of American citizens and immigrants sued the Trump government for terminating humanitarian conditional release and trying to restore the programs for the four nationalities.
Lawyers and activists raised their vote to denounce the government's decision.
Friday's action will “cause unnecessary chaos and heartache for families and communities throughout the country,” said Karen Tumlin, founder and director of Justice Action Center, one of the organizations that brought the lawsuit at the end of February. She called it 'reckless, cruel and counterproductive'.
The Biden administration allowed up to 30,000 people a month from the four countries to come to the United States for two years with the eligible to work.

Haitians and Cubans involved in the program are immediately eligible for federal benefits such as Medicaid, Food Vouchers and Welfare.

In that time frame, 78,838 Haitians had registered with the Program with the Ministry of Interior Security that assesses 64,285 cases. Of these, 63,214 applications were approved.

Cuba generally accepted about one deportation flight per month, while Venezuela and Nicaragua refused to take one. All three are American opponents.
Haiti accepted many deportation flights, especially after an increase in migrants from the Caribbean country in the small border town of Del Rio, Texas, in 2021. But Haiti had constant unrest, which prevented American efforts.
Since the end of 2022, more than half a million people have come to the US under the policy, also known as CHNV.
It was a part of the Biden administration approach to encourage people by coming up with new legal channels while cherishing themselves on those who crossed the border illegally.
