A woman in southern Colorado was arrested after her 54 dogs reportedly pulled her dementia older mother.
Jessica Hoff, 47, has been arrested and accused of criminal negligence that results in death and 54 counts of worse cruelty for animals, after the horrific death of her mother Lavonne Hoff, 76.
Hoff is said to have left Lavonne with Hoff's dogs during the day while she did shopping.
Her mother was no longer responded by law enforcement on 3 February.
The office of Pueblo County Sheriff responded at 5.30 pm on a phone call to Hoff's house and found 'different dogs loose in the house, along with at least a dozen more dogs in cages.'
The autopsy of Lavonne Hoff revealed that her death was the result of a dog attack, Sheriffs said in a press release.
Sheriffs added that Lavonne reportedly had dementia and needed 24-hour care.
Detectives learned that although Lavonne Hoff was left alone, she was attacked by the dogs in the house, Sheriffs said.
The research led to the search for the house and another real estate that Hoff was in Colorado City, a total of 54 dogs and seven birds in her possession.
