The bid of the Huskies of the UConn on a historic Madness by March Madness is over after a defeat of 77-75 by the Florida Gaters.
The reigning champion (24-11) sent a gasket in this year's second round of this year's NCAA tournament, where the number 1 seed gates (32-4) ended their hope to win three consecutive championships in an exciting meeting on Sunday afternoon.
Dan Hurley's no. 8 Seed would have become the first men's team to get a three-poll since UCLA's run of seven straight titles in the 1960s and 70s had gone completely again in 2025.
But thanks to a sensational representation of Florida and observatory Walter Clayton Jr. UCLA remains the only men's team in history to achieve that performance.
Clayton JR, an all-America guard of the first team, placed 23 points, three rebounds and one assist in a stunning victory for the Gaters in the PNC Arena in North Carolina.
Alijah Martin also ended with 18 points, while Will Richard was at hand with 15.
As for UConn, Liam McNeeley (22) and Alex Karaban (14) recorded their biggest scores in the defeat.
Florida went to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2017 and plays Colorado State of Maryland in the semi -final of the West region in San Francisco.
