Second Lady Usha Vance will lead a delegation to Greenland on Thursday.
The journey seems to be part of President Donald Trump's continuous effort to buy the Arctic area of Denmark.
In a quick video on the upcoming trip posted on social media, Mrs. Vance said that she hopes that the relationship between the American Greenland “will only become stronger in the future.”
Those officials who add her to the Trek at De Trek are national security adviser Mike Waltz and energy secretary Chris Wright, who are both expected to visit a military base in Greenland during their visit.
In the meantime, Vance will bring her son to the Avanaata Qimussersu Dog Sleed Race during their weekend in Greenland, of which they will return to the US on Saturday.
The second lady also revealed that the US is a sponsor of the race where 444 dogs and 37 Mushers will compete.

The visit to Greenland also comes after the eldest son of President Donald Trump Jr. To the capital Nuuk flew to assume support for his father's offer to buy the autonomous island area of Denmark.
Vance said in her video on the journey that in addition to the race she comes “to celebrate the long history of mutual respect and cooperation between our nations, and hope to express that our relationship will only become stronger in the coming years.”
“I look forward to meeting many of you quickly and learning from you about your beautiful country, culture and traditions,” she concluded.
The statement of the White House on the journey also emphasizes the relationship and says: 'Mrs. Vance and the delegation are pleased to witness this monumental race and to celebrate Greenland culture and unity. '
During the visit of Don Jr. Earlier this year, the first son met Pro-Trump Groenlanders.
Greenland is rich in natural resources and is a strategic location that is important for military and national security purposes in the Noordpool region.
With a land mass of 836,330 square miles and a population of only 55,775 on March 9, 2025, Greenland is the least densely populated country in the world.
