A neurologist has unveiled the three common things that he would never do – including why you should prevent you from breathing through your mouth.

Dr. Baibing Chen, who is by Dr. Bing goes to Tiktok, has more than 106,100 followers and regularly goes viral for sharing health tips and tricks.

In a recent clip, the seasoned doctor from Michigan shared important habits that he avoids that are worrying.

The post, which has collected more than 282,400 views, started with the doctor who explained why a certain type of breathing can be seriously harmful.

“I don't try to breathe my mouth,” he said.

'This is because breathing through your mouth is not only bad for your teeth, face and lungs, but it can actually be bad for your brain.

'Research has shown that chronic mouth breathing can disrupt the rhythm in your brain, as well as the way blood flows into your brain.

'And that can influence your memory, as well as your common functions.

“Mouth breathing during sleep can aggravate obstructive sleep apnea, and that can negatively influence your heart, as well as your chances of stroke and dementia in the future.”

Dr. Bing continued to explain that chronic breathing can also indicate an underlying medical or structural problem and recommended to have it checked at a professional.

The neurologist then advised to exaggerate it with supplements.

Dr. Bing said: 'I don't ignore the possible side effects of freely available supplements.

'Some supplements are great for some people, such as magnesium for [a] Migraine or B12 for B12 deficiency, but you need to know what you are taking and how much.

“And more is not always better.

'For example, I saw that people were unable to walk from taking too much vitamin B6, or increased the pressure in the brain by taking too much vitamin A.

“Remember: supplements are not replacements for a balanced diet.”

Finally, Dr. Bing out why it is crucial to not lose sight of your bowel movements during the day – and in particular how often you have passed the stool.
