A man confronted with online pedophile hunters was found dead on a highway with several injuries, the opening of a study was told.
Adrian Smith, 48, from Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire, shown in a live stream of self-proclaimed 'Child Protection Service' groups on the evening on February 21.
He was arrested that night by Avon and Somerset Police and released the next day for detention.
Avon Coroners' Court heard that Mr. Smith was found dead under a bridge between intersection 20 and 21 of the M4 -Snelweg at 6.52 pm from 22 February.
The police said earlier that Mr. Smith fell to the road at around 6.40 pm before he was hit by vehicles.
Coroner's officer Alexis Camp told an opening of the investigation that Mr Smith, a married man, was identified by his fingerprints.
She said that a post-mortem exam gave his death case as several injuries.

Mrs. Camp added: “I understand that there are no worries.”
Statements are taken from Mr Smith's doctor, his family and witnesses, with a full post-mortem report drawn up for his full research hearing.
Maria Voisin, senior coroner for Avon, for the time being, mentioned Mr Smith's investigation on 11 June.
