A teenager who died in an XL Bully Dog attack suffered snacks in the face and the neck in the horrific incident, heard the opening of an investigation.
Morgan Dorsett, from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, died after the incident in a flat in Cobhorn Drive, Withywood, Bristol, on 26 February.
Avon Coroners' Court heard that a post-mortem exam gave a provisional cause of death, because dog bites on the neck of Dorsett Mrs. Miss.
Coroners Officer Alexis Camp told the hearing that the death of Miss Dorsett was confirmed at 7.29 pm by a paramedic.
Miss Dorsett was identified by her mother, Marie Smith, in the Mortuary in Flax Bourton, near Bristol.
Mrs. Camp said, “Morgan got significant dog bites in her face and neck, which resulted in her sad death.”
She added: “I understand that there are family businesses about the criminal investigation.”
A provisional cause of death of dog bites in the neck was given to the court.

Statements will be taken from the family, police and paramedics of Miss Dorsett, with a full post-mortem report and toxicological report prepared prior to the final hearing.
Maria Voisin, senior coroner for Avon, said: 'Because of the current criminal investigation, I will not mention this. It will be on a date to be determined. '
The dog was laid down after the incident.
A man and a woman, both in the twenties, who were arrested on suspicion of the management of a dog who was dangerous and causes injury and resulting in the death, as well as possession of a forbidden dog breed, were released by conditional bail.
In an emotional tribute to his stepdaughter, Matthew Travis wrote: 'Words cannot describe how much our heart is breaking at the moment.
'The sweet villain who knew what she wants and also how to get it. That cheeky smile would win every bloody time, even to the point that you would let me make pasta at 2 o'clock. '
Mr. Travis added: 'In my eyes, you could not be wrong and will always be my favorite (as you would like to tell everyone).
“In our hearts you will take a place that nobody else will ever fill.”

Morgan's mother, Marie Louise, wrote on Facebook: 'I want to thank everyone who sent us. I read them all and really appreciate it. I will eventually come back to everyone. Lots of love. '
Neighbors, who said they had heard Morgan that Morgan was an epileptic, said she had contracted an attack – false the dog who then turned against her.
A man and a woman, both in the twenties, were arrested on suspicion of the leadership of a dog who was dangerously out of hand, resulting in injury to death and possession of a forbidden dog breed.
Since then they have been released on the conditional bail.
