A few days after not -tested claims for sexual violence, one of Australia's most famous restaurantms resigned against his son.

Maurice Terzini, who founded the renowned Bondi Iceberg restaurant in Sydney in 2002, said on Sunday that he would continue to support his son Sylvester Terzini, 32, even though nine women came forward with sexual misconduct claims.

But on Wednesday it was announced in a statement from the restaurant group that Mr Terzini would resign as director.

“Maurice Terzini has agreed to join the IJsbergs director in the dining room and barbusiness, and has emerged from any involvement in the company while we have an independent assessment of the problems that have been discussed in the SMH reports,” said a spokesperson for ICESBERGS Group in a statement.

“That review is underway.”

Maurice and Sylvester Terzini both denied the accusations that were first reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Mr. Terzini spoke about the impact that the allegations had on him and his family in his statement on Sunday.

“Accusations made about one of my family members are devastating claims that have no room in our locations, industry or society,” said Mr. Terzini, 60,.

'There are private health issues about one of my family members, where professional counsel was sought.

'As a father my priority has always been my children.

'In this storm my mother reminded me that we sometimes act as parents with the best of intentions, but sometimes we are challenged.

“All parents are confronted with times of family security.”

Mr. Terzini said that, given his profile in the hospitality industry, he had become additional damage.

'The allegations are not directly against me, but the conclusions have been hurtful and harmful to my reputation.

“The spotlight on me, and what comes from running one of the most recognized restaurants in the world, brings an obligation to ensure that I am truthfully communicated with my beloved industry and the community.”

Mr. Terzini also denied claims in the Sydney Morning Herald that he was aware of the complaints against his son, who worked in several of his restaurants.

“On a personal level, as a father and employer, I have done my best for decades to offer real care and opportunities to everyone around me and within my companies,” he said.
