A prominent doctor who is accused of killing his wife of the nuclear engineer by pushing her from a path in Hawaii and beating her in the head with a rock allegedly did, simply because she refused to take a photo with him.
Gerhardt Konig, 46, a renowned anaesthesiologist, was arrested on Monday after he reportedly attacked his 36-year-old wife, Arielle Konig, at the Pali-look in Oahu, leaving them in a critical condition.
Legal enforcement officials now tell Hawaii News now that the attack came after Arielle refused to take a photo with her husband.
Allegedly she said civil servants that Konig had attacked her with closed fists and a rock before trying to slide her from the hiking trail.
At a certain point during the attack, Konig would also have taken two syringes and Arielle pricked with them. It is unclear what the syringes were filled.
After the attack, Arielle was taken to a local hospital with serious head and face injuries.

There she told medical officials that her husband had attacked her, which led to a short foot hunt to find the anesthesiologist.
He was finally near the hiking trail after he fled the stage on foot, said law enforcement officials.
'HPD officers found Gerhardt Konig near Pali Highway and arrested him after a short chase. The charges are pending, “said the Honolulu police in a statement.

The couple has been married since 2018 and lives in a $ 1.5 million house in Maui – but visited the beauty spot in Oahu at the time of the alleged incident.
Konig was also previously married to another woman and has at least one child.
He is now suspended from his work for an independent contractor who serves various facilities under the health of Maui.
