A prominent tried to kill his nuclear engineer -woman by pushing her from a path in Hawaii and beating her in the head with a rock, according to the police.
Gerhardt Konig, 46, was arrested on Monday after he reportedly pushed his 36-year-old woman, Arielle Konig, from the Pali view in Oahu, leaving her in a critical condition.
Arielle reportedly told civil servants who Konig had attacked her with closed fists and an object, according to the Star Advertiser.
She suffered serious injury to head and face, local media reported.
Konig, an anesthesiologist, was taken into custody after a short manhunt. He was found in near the hiking trail after he fled the stage on foot, officials said.
The couple lives in Maui in a $ 1.5 million house, but visited the beauty spot in Oahu at the time of the alleged incident.
Koenig is suspended from his work for an independent contractor who serves various facilities under Maui Health.
