A rapist was caught by the police after images of attacking a woman was secretly filmed on a baby monitor.
Connor Pennell was finally caught after officers found the horrible images that had been saved on his phone.
Pennell was called 'extremely dangerous' and 'misogynistic' by officers that he was innocent and told the police that his phone information would free him.
But when researchers started to pick up data from his device, the opposite came to light. He had deliberately included many filthy acts on a baby monitor, the victim of which was not aware at all.
The 27-year-old from Skelmersdale, Lancs, is now being imprisoned for nine and a half years after he was found guilty of violating a limiting order, rape, controlling and compelling behavior, non-fatale strangulation and three counts of Voyeurism at Bolton Crown Court.
He will be placed in the register of sex offenders and has an unlimited restrictive order with the victim.
The concern was initially addressed in July 2024 in Wigan, Greater Manchester, when officers spoke with the woman who feared for her life.
He was accused of battery and strangulation and a protection against intimidation order was drawn up.

But this did not tore him and he continued with the use of controlling and compelling behavior, became personally offensive and on text.
He also threatened to release intimate images of the victim if she reported him to violate the intimidation warrant.
Once arrested and interviewed, Pennell argued his innocence and told another version of events, and boast that his telephone records would free him.
On an occasion, the victim thought she would die after the criminal strangled her.
Her victim's impact statement, read before the court, said: 'Before I met Connor, I was a funny, bustling, confident, loyal, young girl and I had many friends I loved, and a whole family I loved with all my heart and that of me, I had a life and a future to look forward to.
“He has taken almost every aspect of my life and has changed the course of my future.
“I am not the same person I was.
'Connor let me revive it all, sitting in this court, surrounded by strangers who watch videos of myself in an extremely personal state that chases me.
'I have flashbacks of everything he has done to me and flashbacks of the process.
'I hope that the conviction will help other victims of domestic violence and sexual crimes to come forward and show them that their voices will be heard and that justice will be served.
'It is a long way to recovery, because once the abuse stops, this does not mean that it is over, survivors always say that the bruises are disappearing, but the mental aspect takes much longer and they are right, so I have learned from myself again.
“I won't let him take it from me anymore. Connor is a danger for women and children, and I pray that today's conviction reflects how powerful it is what the damage of a man can cause. '
On Pennell behind the bars, detective Amy Stewart from the Wigan District of Greater Manchester Police said: 'Pennell had a full contempt for women and is an extremely dangerous individual.
'The courage of the victim to come forward and then have the confidence and belief in us to support a persecution, hopefully if she tries to rebuild her life after what a horrible time was for her, with Pennell who is now confronted with the consequences.
'His misogynistic attitude towards women was clear to everyone to see as soon as we discovered the shocking and disturbing evidence.
'I want to emphasize the importance for anyone who may have in a controlling relationship to, if possible, discuss and talk to us, as we can help and ensure that you receive the necessary support.
“No life should be overshadowed by those who intend to cause unnecessary and traumatic abuse.”
