The knowledge of the animals in the wild decreases – with Robins, dragonflies and badgers, only some species that people say they could not identify.
The survey of 2,000 adults revealed that a quarter would not be certain to point a dragonfly if they saw one in the wild.
While 22 percent could not identify Robin and 21 percent would have difficulty mentioning a tie.
Haren, moths and wild ponies were also among the British animals in the wild that people could not call correctly.
The study, commissioned by the Camping and Caravanning Club, also discovered that the natural geography of British is not aware, because 51 percent are unsure where you see the most likely different animals in the UK.
In response to the findings, the brand and his president, Wildlife Cameraman and presenter, Hamza Yassin, created an interactive map to help British discover where they should camp to see 10 of the best animals in the wild that the UK has to offer.
Hamza Yassin said: 'From red squirrels in the Lake District to wild ponies in Dartmoor, there is an abundance of fantastic animals in the wild at our door, but our research shows that many people do not know where they can find it.

The findings also revealed that 65 percent of adults do not know which regions in the UK are best for spotting puffins, and 41 percent said the same about wild ponies.
Although 43 percent could not distinguish any kind of deer species if they saw them in the wild or in a photo.
It also emerged that 73 percent would not be confident to identify pet traces or footprints.
Dolphins, red squirrels and gold eagles, however, belonged to the animals that British would see the most in their natural habitat.
Reasons why the respondents, via Onepoll.com, are no longer busy with wildlife in the wild include lack of time and not knowing enough to be really interested.
While 18 percent live in a city, 44 percent rather surprised to spot a wild creature in their local environment – because they did not know they were living there.

Encouragingly, 77 percent would be interested in learning more about identifying animals in the wild, and 46 percent would consider going on a natural -specific holiday, such as camping.
Sabina Voysey, director -general at the Camping and Caravanning Club, said: 'I am always closely linked to the countryside and spending the positive impact of time in nature is well reported.
'To help people experience more British animals in the wild, with the support of our club president, Hamza, we have made an interactive map to emphasize the great species that can be found directly at our door.
“It is reassuring to see how many people in the UK want to expand their nature knowledge.”
Reasons why people are no longer concerned with wild animals include a lack of time and too little knowledge to really be interested.
77 percent, however, want to learn more and half on a nature holiday such as camping.
