Not all is bad news – our hangovers are less helic about the age, a study has suggested.
Scientists from Utrecht University in the Netherlands discovered that heavy drinkers aged 18-35 reported that they experienced the most serious symptoms the following morning.
Those in category 46-65 assessed their post-alcohol headache, nausea and exhaustion as intensely as intense as younger drinkers.
Experts have thereby asked that with age we develop a 'tolerance' for the dreaded symptoms and consider them less serious.
Men reported that they suffer more than women in all age groups except more than 66-year-olds.
The findings are evidence of earlier studies that suggest that hangovers feel worse as we get older.
Such older research has argued that the reduced efficiency of the liver as we get older, the metabolism of alcohol can slow down, increasing its presence in the bloodstream.
But the Dutch experts said that their findings not only show that the seriousness of the hangover and the frequency decrease with age, people feel 'less drunk' as they get older – despite drinking the same amount of drinks.

For the study, the scientists collected data from 761 Dutch alcohol consumers between 18 and 94 years old.
Participants were asked questions about their alcohol consumption for the two-month period before the COVID-19 Lockdown.
They were asked to register the number of alcoholic beverages that they consumed on average per week and the number of days a week they consumed alcohol.
Participants were also asked to assess their hangovers on a serious scale of 0 to 10.
They were then asked to record how many hangovers they had experienced in the past two months.
The researchers carried out an analysis to match participants in all age groups about the amount of alcohol drank and looked for differences in the severity of the hangover.
The newspaper, published in the magazine Alcohol and Alcoholism, ultimately discovered that with increasing age and alcohol consumption 'tolerance' develops into its acute effects.

“The analysis indicated that with increasing age, fewer serious hangovers are experienced,” the authors wrote, adding that an age -related reduction in pain sensitivity can be the fault.
