It was the height of the Cold War, the tensions were high and rumors were erecting that the Soviets were building the largest nuclear submarine in the world.
With limited intelligence operations, the CIA recruited a 'psychological' spy to find the top -secret ship, and he only did this with his spirit.
The agency conducted experiments in the 1970s and 80s with people who claimed that they could perceive information about distant objects, events or other people.
There are claims that this group, known as Remoter viewers, has successfully detected hostages and druglords during the more than decade-long program.
One of the best external viewers, a man named Joe McMoneagle, used his ability to see in a hangar of the Soviet Union and to discover a top-secret submarine that is being built.
McMonagle claimed to watch a large warehouse 100 meters from the White Sea in 1979 and describes a never -before -seen type of submarine with sloping rocket tubes and a unique double -sided structure.
The spy reported his vision to the American navy, but the claims of the external viewer were reportedly rejected as false.
However, satellite images and other sources of information later confirmed that the Soviet Union built a new class of submarines, called Typhoon, which was hidden until it was launched in September 1980.

The computer scientist said that McMonagle reported his vision to the American navy, but the claims of the external viewer were reportedly rejected. However, satellite images and other sources of intelligence confirmed later. Satellite image made after it was confirmed

One of the best external viewers, a man named Joe McMoneagle (now depicted), used his ability to see in a hangar of the Soviet Union and to discover a top secret submarine that is being built.
The incredible story of the Cold War was just an example of the remotely viewing of Jacques Vallée, a renowned computer scientist, gave joe Rogan Experience during an interview on the podcast of Joe Rogan Experience.
Vallée is a computer scientist born in France, astronomer and UFologist who was a key figure in the development of the Arpanet, a precursor to today's internet.
He also developed the first automated MARS for NASA in 1963.
Vallée worked at Stanford Research Institute, where he was recruited by a group that learned how to use mental super powers to 'see' things that would happen far away.
The scientist said he had also trained to use this psychological tool, which was initially funded by the CIA, so that the government could collect intelligence without physical access to distant goals.
The experiments were part of the Stargate project that was officially terminated in 1995 after the CIA had concluded that it could not produce reliable intelligence – based on a report from the US Institutes for Research (AIR).
There is currently no definitive evidence that the US government has again used psychological spies after Stargate was closed.
During his interview on 12 March with Rogan, Vallée went into detail about the American development of psychological agents who could essentially send their attention to another room, state or even land and see what happened there in real time.

The American navy is said to laughed at the vision of the external viewer Joe McMoneaagle on a secret Russian submarine during the Cold War, but it turned out to be real

Jacques Vallée revealed how one of the best external viewers in the US during the Cold War was able to use this psychological capacity to see a top secrecy Soviet submarine under construction
In the external incident of McMonagle with the Soviet submarine, the American spy could collect detailed information about the ship without stepping into the secret hangar.
“He described the length. And, you know, he actually measured it psychologically, “Vallée explained.
“And it turned out to be right. And when the submarine was built, they brought a few bulldozers and they groove, you know, a channel to the sea and it went off. '
It turned out that what McMonagle had seen the largest nuclear sub in history.
The typhoon measures 574 feet long and has a weight of 48,000 tons while it is fully immersed.
Although intelligence officials took the report from McMonagle about the Typhoon to the American National Security Council, officials did not believe his vision and the ship eventually launched without incidents.
Typhoon officially arrived in the Cold War in 1981, but the submarine never launched a rocket in battle.

The three rods of the Typhoon -class ships increase their chance of survival considerably when it is hit -even when one pressure hull is violated, the crews in the other are safe and there is less potential for floods

Only the first of the Typhoon submarines to be built, the Dmitriy Donskoy, was still in active service at the Russian Navy in 2019. It was eventually dismantled in 2023
Usually external viewers sit at a table with paper and something to sketch with. They then get something simple, such as a series of numbers, to focus their attention.
For psychological spies during the Cold War, these would usually have been coordinates – a series of figures that mark a place in the world where the American government wanted to investigate.
From there, the external viewer is just there and relaxes, a bit like meditating. They erase their heads and let their minds wander at what those figures point.
Vallée said that these psychologically gifted spies not only make guesses, they get impressions – random images, shapes or feelings of the location.
They may see water, metal, or something big and dark in their thoughts. Remote viewers don't think about it; They just go with it and start sketching their visions.
Vallée himself practiced this technique in SRI in the 1970s.
While training with the American psychic Ingo Swann, Vallée remembered how his spirit was once transported to a strong mountain thousands of kilometers away.
'[Swann] Gives me a series of coordinates, longitude and latitude somewhere. And I get very cold right away and I'm getting dizzy, “Vallée said.
“I said:” Ingo, I don't know where you are sending me, but I'm cold, I'm vibrating, I'm scared, I'm afraid to fall, and you know, I really don't feel good. “And he said, you are on top of a peak in the Andes,” the scientist revealed.
As far as McMoneaagle is concerned, a retired American army peter, he was one of the original external viewers who were recruited for the SRI program in the 1970s.
The program would later be called the Stargate project.
In his own book about the psychological program, McMonagle revealed that he was called 'external viewer no. 1' and worked from Fort Meade in Maryland.
The participation of MCMonagle in the psychic intelligence unit of the army was ultimately confirmed in declassified documents and interviews, where he discussed with the use of external view to spy military goals for the US.
