A 17-year-old student from a nearby school told the outlet: 'There was an incredible crash. I've never experienced anything like that.
'I saw the bus cross the road of the roadway and it was vertical for a few seconds before he went straight.
“There was a huge splash in the water and everyone started screaming.”
Italian media -Outlet Corriere della Sera reports that the crash was probably caused by illness.
The Tourbus was on its way to Milan to pick up a group of primary school children for a school trip to the Egyptian museum in Turin.
During the maneuver, the coach bumped into three women, who suffered minor injuries.
Stefano Lo Russo, the mayor of Turin, said: 'The investigation has only just begun. The only objective we have are the videos of the cameras, both from the police head office and ours. '
He added: 'From the examination of the cameras you can see the bus arriving from Lungo Po Cadorna, turn right in Piazza Vittorio and the first Exedra approaches.
“Then it starts a reverse maneuver at an angle of 45 degrees, therefore unusual for what is a normal way to control a vehicle, it crosses the entire exchange area of the intersection, touches the balustrade of the Murazzi del Po and sinks with the rear part in the river and then rests on the left side of the vehicle.”
