A massive stabbing on the Damsplein of Amsterdam has left several people injured.
The incident took place just after 3.30 pm local time (2:30 pm in the UK).
Live images of the historic square shows a massive crowd that gathered around a broken area, with a trauma picopter, ambulances and police buses present.
Local media reported that at least 14 police cars and an officer on a motorcycle were on site.
It is not currently known exactly how many people were injured.
'We are present in the Sint Nicolaasstraat near Dam Square after a report of a declared incident with injuries. There is therefore a cordon, also on Dam Square. More information will follow, “said the city police on X.
A police spokesperson could not confirm whether the attacker had been arrested or the motive of the stabbing, but said that the local media authorities had received reports of a robbery.
