Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Prepares to lower a striking percentage of the staff for health and human services by eliminating 13 of the divisions of the agency.

In a movement inspired by the Ministry of Efficiency of President Donald Trump, HHS is the next to be stripped because the secretary says he is trying to defeat 20,000 jobs, bringing the total staff from 82,000 to 62,000.

RFK Jr. On Thursday, the announcement has made the approaching cuts on the massive federal agency that supervises Medicare, Medicaid and the Centers for Disease Control.

In a video of six minutes, Kennedy says that he will reduce the divisions of the desk to 15 of the current 28 and will reduce the number of regional offices from 10 to five.

'We are going to do more with less. No American will be left behind, “he said. “We are going to consolidate all these departments and make them responsible for you, the American taxpayer and the American patient.”

A press release in the work reductions claims that the measure saves $ 1.8 billion per year.

Half of the 20,000 employees took buyouts or options for early retirement to leave HHS, while the other 10,000 will lose their jobs in the coming weeks.

HHS secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cuts 20,000 jobs in his department and reduces the divisions from 28 to 15, he announced on Thursday

Kennedy is planning to create a new division within HHS called the administration for a healthy America to serve important functions and to concentrate on 'safe, healthy food, clean water and the elimination of environmental oxins', according to the release.

RFK Jr. is very controversial because of its anti-vaccination position. But earlier this year he was confirmed to lead the department that was instructed to treat Americans at federal level, healthcare, medicines and vaccine regulations and other important health -related recommendations.

He promised to make America healthy again by eliminating unnecessary and potentially hazardous substances in food and giving more freedom to Americans to make their own health-related decisions-such as taking vaccines or the search for alternative medicines in their health network.

Kennedy said in his video on X that, although the HHS budget has blown up in recent years, so have the rates of cancer and other chronic diseases. He also noted that the lifespan of Americans has fallen, despite a higher focus on the health agency.

He acknowledged that there could be a 'painful period' of transition while cuts are made and the 'bureaucracy' is being restructured, but eventually claimed that the 'HHS would streamline'.

It seems that one of the divisions that will be most difficult to bear most of the cutbacks, is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – wants to lose 3,500 employees. The agency, with a budget of $ 7 billion, is accused of vaccine and medicine safety and most American food supply and tobacco products.

A fact sheet insists that the FDA cuts will not affect drugs, medical devices or food review, nor will it affect inspectors.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also lose 2,400 employees in the next austerity round. The release says that the division established in Atlanta will focus on combating epidemics.

CDC has a budget of $ 9 billion and is responsible for making vaccine recommendations and works to prevent proliferation of chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. It also follows opioid overdoses and fights outbreaks of infectious diseases – such as the current national distribution of measles.

In the aftermath of the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemie, the CDC suffered the victim of criticism of the compulsory implementation of vaccine mandate, although only the emergency use authority had and was not fully approved by the FDA.

Thousands of Americans – including those within the federal government – lost their jobs because they had to get the vaccine and refused.

HHS will cut only 300 employees from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the department says that no services will be influenced by the relatively small reduction in workforce.

About 66 million people are registered in Medicare, the health insurance program for people aged 65 and older. While 72 million is on Medicaid, that is the program that mainly serves people with a low income and people with disabilities.
