A top cancer surgeon has urged the public to add part of the yogurt to their daily diet to lower their risk of colon cancer.
Professor Justin Stebbing from Oncologist claims that Dairy's favorite naturally contains cancer -fighting bacteria and reduces the risk of the disease – also known as colon cancer – by a maximum of 20 percent.
“As an advisor oncologist, many people have asked me how their risk can be reduced,” he said in a new report on this subject.
'The emerging evidence suggests that yogurt consumption can regularly have a protective effect against certain aggressive forms of [bowel] cancer.'
However, not all yogurt offer the same benefits, he warned.
“Different fermentation processes can lead to different levels of useful bacteria, so look for yogurt with living cultures,” said Prof Stebbing.
He added that clear, unsweetened and complete species are usually higher in filling proteins and lower in sugar, as well as additives.
Prof Stebbing's advice follows Last month it published impressive research in which those who ate at least two portions of yogurt per week over the course of three decades in the course of three decades had a fifth less chance of getting a certain type of colon cancer.

A top specialist in cancer has urged the public to include part of the yogurt in their daily diet.
In particular, they had a reduced chance of developing tumors that contain bifidobacterium.
This is a kind of bacteria in the intestine that is favorable, so that the fibers are digested and infections.
It is also present in some types of colon cancer, although it is not considered the cause of the tumors.
However, these types also have one of the lowest survival percentages, according to Prof Stebbing.
Experts believe that the bifidobacterium found in yogurt naturally has an anti -cancer effect and works to prevent tumors from forming, although the exact mechanism is not fully understood.
Yogurt can also have an anti -inflammatory effect on the intestinal wall, which further reduces the risk of cancer.
The Harvard University Study, in which more than 130,000 people were involved, is not the first to identify a connection between dairy products and protection of colon cancer.
British research that was published in January showed that increasing daily milk intake with only one glass a day could considerably lower the chance of developing bowel cancer.

Researchers collected data from more than 542,000 women and discovered those who consumed the equivalent of one large glass of milk per day, had a 17 percent lower risk of the disease.
They theoretized that the benefit can also be the influence of Dairy on healthy intestinal bugs, which can be explained by the large amount of calcium in it.
“Calcium can help protect cancer by binding to potentially harmful substances in the intestine and promoting the death of abnormal cells,” Pro Stebbing explained.
According to Cancer Research UK data, 54 percent of all colon cancer can be prevented by leading a healthier lifestyle.
Prof Stebbing's recommendations come in the midst of a global epidemic in colon cancer among fewer than 50 -year -olds – many of other people are fit and healthy.
A recent overview of 50 countries showed that cases in the 1950s increased in half of all countries surveyed.
The number of younger patients with the disease has risen by 50 percent worldwide.
England also appeared to have one of the fastest rises worldwide with the speed of the disease that grew on average 3.6 percent every year.
Experts are not entirely certain why the turnout exists, but they suspect that a bad diet, including the increased popularity of ultra-processed food, and a lack of exercise can be the fault.
In the UK, almost 45,000 British are diagnosed with colon cancer every year.
