Two students were urgently taken to the hospital after they were left out of school by a car on Friday.
The students were seriously injured when the car hit them in Canberra Avenue outside St Edmund's College in Griffith in Canberra.
The NSW police said that the car struck a number of cars in the area before the children walked.
The driver is said to not stop to check the students and only left the car after he had crashed him 1.5 km away near St Christopher's cathedral in Manuka.

Officers claim that the car was stolen earlier in the day from Queanbeyan.
The driver has since been held and is currently in custody.
The police have encouraged people of the public to avoid the area, while dozens of officers continue to work on the spot.
More come.
