Gavin Newsom said the brand is democratic 'toxic' and they are not going to repair it by refusing to talk and protest with Republicans.
The Californian governor has recently tried to reach conservatives and interviews Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon in front of his podcast: “This is Gavin Newsom.”
In a conversation with Bill Maher on Friday, the host praised him for trying to have conversations with Republicans, but Newsom said it was part of his plan to bring the party back from Dead.
Maher quoted Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman by saying: “If we don't get our S *** together, we will be a permanent minority” and Newsom have been agreed.
“These guys crush us, the democratic brand is now poisonous,” he said about Donald Trump and the Maga movement.
Newsom admitted that some of his guests were 'controversial', but 'this idea that we cannot even have a conversation with the other side?'
“They won!” Maher broke back, before Newsom emphasized how 'toxic' the brand is democratic, with reference to polls that showed the party in the Low 20S.
“What this podcast and the possibility have to dialogue with people with whom I disagree, it is an opportunity to try to find a common basis and not to make cheap shots,” he said.

He added that the party 'is needed to possess our mistakes and to possess what is wrong with our party', including issues such as allowing transgender women to exercise with cisgender women.
Newsom also seemed to throw cold water at times such as Congslord Al Green who protested against Trump's speech to Congress and Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Barnstorming Tour of Swing Districts.
“It's one thing to make noise, but you also have to be logical,” he said, in what could have been a chance on Tim Walz who mocked Elon Musk during the town hall events.
Newsom then derived culture as 'real' and something 'must have democrats.'
Towards the end of the interview, Maher seemed desperate to find out if Newsom was for president.
“I have no big plans,” said the governor and did not suspect in the direction of running in 2028.
On March 6, Nieuwsom released the debut episode of this Gavin Newsom, with a conversation with Maga commentator Kirk.
The Californian governor, an old advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, led to controversy by suggesting that Democrats were wrong to allow transgender athletes to compete in women's college and youth sports.

Newsom also denied Cancel Culture as' real 'and something' Democrats must 'possess'
“I think it's a matter of honesty, I totally agree. It is a matter of honesty – it is deeply unfair, “Newsom said during the episode. 'I am not struggling with the honesty problem. I totally agree with you. '
After only three episodes, the Republican strategist Alex Conant Newsom praised as a 'skilled communicator' and 'very, very talented politician'.
Maga figure Steve Bannon, who appeared in the Newsom show, responded with 'Hell, Yes', when he was asked if Newsom could form a problem for Republicans.
Iowa Gop -Strategist David Kochel added: “The operating class is definitely watching him because he does something completely different.”
Fergus Cullen, former chairman of the Republican Party of New Hampshire, repeated Conant's high praise and called the Democrat 'a very talented politician'.
Despite progressive return, National Republicans Newsom see his political skills improve.
Megyn Kelly released concern and warned that Newsom is 'in training for 2028' and will improve his appeal to right -wing and independent voters.
Republicans in California, however, see the reach of Newsom to red states with skepticism. Matt Fleming, former director of communication director in California, said, “The more people get to know Gavin, the less they seem to find him.”

Although the podcast of Newsom has not won the Maga base, even some Gop critics recognize his political savvy.
After his episode with Kirk, the commentator wrote that Newsom is 'charming', 'Savvy with politics' and 'wants to become president than every living person'.
The head of his Op-ed warned the Republicans to 'just look after'.
The podcast of Newsom has attracted criticism from the left, but has also increased its national profile.
In California, however, many have beaten him and his podcast called everything from 'from touch' to a 'fake hair gel idiot'.
A recent poll of 1,000 Golden State voters by Capitol Weekly showed that 26 percent of the respondents said that their view of Newsom deteriorated after hearing the podcast.
In 2022, Newsom led advertisements in Texas and Florida who criticized Gop Governors and debated about Ron Desantis, which indicates his interest in red states.

However, his podcast has a less confrontational approach, aimed at understanding the MAGA movement, modernizing democratic communication and reaching a younger audience.
This is generally seen as the positioning of Newsom for a potential presidential run of 2028, although it is at risk of criticizing that he is more focused on national branding than tackling California's problems.
Republican figures, such as Jon Fleischman, claim that Newsom should be assessed by his actions as governor, not on his national ambitions.
Despite challenges, Newsom remains a formidable figure in California, with strong approval classifications.
David McINTOSH of the Club For Growth noted that Newsom is adapting its positions and tackling state issues, including Trans -Athletes and Fire Management.
Chad Bianco, Riverside County Sheriff and Gop -EDDERDER, warned that the ability of Newsom to control conversations, just like his podcast with KIRK, is a 'verbal judo' skills that must be watching conservatives.
