This debacle comes after it has been revealed exclusively on Dailymail.com that a detective of a NYPD Special Victims unit, Melissa Mercado, can be seen in a viral hip-hop music video, 'Doin that,' performance in lingerie at a strip club and dollar bills.
The video, released in February, shows her dancing with artist S-Quire, who was not aware of her profession.
S-Quire, real name Phabian Winfield, expressed surprise in learning the identity of Mercado, who only knew her because of her nickname, Honeybee.
The video has collected 1.2 million views on YouTube where it was posted by World Star Hip Hop and 1.1 million on the S-Quire Instagram page.
Mercado's video and social media photos have been shared on a large scale within the NYPD. She deactivated her Instagram account when the video became viral.
The NYPD has not tackled potential disciplinary measures.
