A senior media consultant is suspended from an NSW government department after he was reportedly caught with material for child abuse and an illegal drug.
Matthew John Bachl, 38, who works for NSW Corrective Services, was charged on Friday after a raid in his Chatswood unit, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
Officers who worked for Strike Force Salta, seized electronic devices and, reportedly, the drug Gamma Butyrolacton (GBL) during the search.
Bachl was arrested and later charged at the Chatswood police station with two counts of possession of material for child abuse and one count of possession of a forbidden medicine.
He arrested Hornnsby Local Court where he received conditional bail.
NSW Corrective Services confirmed that BACHL was suspended without payment of his well -paid job while the case goes through the courts.
BACHL also worked for the nine network as a foreign deskchef and senior supervisor producer.
He will appear again in court on April 9.
