The Taliban released an American woman from captivity after guards had to violently separate her from a British couple who is still being held in Afghanistan.
Faye Hall was released today by the Taliban after the Trump administration had removed Premes worth millions of pounds from three senior members.
“The American Burger Faye Hall, just released by the Taliban, is now under the care of our friends, the Qataris in Kabul, and will soon be on their way home,” former American ambassador in Afghanistan and Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad posted on X.
Mrs. Hall, who was kept in addition to the British retired couple Peter Reynolds, 79, and his wife Barbie, 75, in Afghanistan, was forced dragged away on Thursday after they refused to leave them, according to their daughter.
Sarah Entwistle said that the guards 'resorted to violence' after 'both women resisted' were separated.
“They were pulled and shout, with Faye eventually torn from Barbie's arms and thrown into an unmarked car.”
The American was brought to court and told about a release order. When she asked about her companions, she was told: “We only have to deal with you,” said the Telegraph.
The trio was arrested on 1 February with their Afghan interpreter Juya.
A senior Taliban officer said they were held by the Haqqani network to get concessions from the American and British governments.

He said that Mrs. Hall was released after the US had dropped his premiums on Senior Haqqani officials, including a $ 10 million reward for Sirajuddin Haqqani, the domestic minister of Taliban.
The Haqqani network was responsible for some of the most deadly attacks during the war in Afghanistan.
Mrs Entwistle says that Mrs.'s release is against 'eight weeks of Taliban guarantees' that the prisoners would be released together.
She rather revealed that she was worried that her parents could die in prison while their health deteriorates.

Although they were not officially accused of any crimes, it is assumed that the Taliban was interested in the couple, while they were running a course of teaching female mother skills, while the terror group sets serious limitations in the field of women.
Since their arrest almost two months ago, Mr. Reynolds has declined and his wife has 'collapsed due to malnutrition'.

Because Peter was separated from his wife and the Taliban had moved to a maximum safety prison, he suffered from a breast infection, a double eye infection and severe digestive problems, Entwistle told The Times, adding that without immediate access to medicines, his life is in danger.
The Reynolds refused to flee Afghanistan when the Taliban unexpectedly seized power in August 2021, with the argument: “They could not leave when Afghans were of needs in their hour,” said Mrs. Entwistle.
Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds married in Kabul in 1970 after meeting as students at Bath University.
They have lived in the country for 18 years and have run five schools in Kabul, including a training program of mothers and children who are reportedly approved by the Taliban.
