The police were criticized for their harsh approach to minor incidents, while dangerous crimes remain unsolved.

It comes after officers have handed out a warning letter to a woman for alleged mushroom picking and a mother and father were arrested for criticizing their daughter's school about WhatsApp.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp has led the actions of the police and demanded that they focus their attention on 'ruthless' to investigate hardened criminals.

His comments also come after more than 20 officers of the Metropolitan Police burst into a Quaker meeting house last week and six women arrested because of the fear that they were planning a protest.

Maxie Allen, 50, a Times radio producer, and his partner Rosalind Levine, 46, were arrested on suspicion of intimidation and malignant communication after a dispute with their daughter's school.

Six officers arrived at their house in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, and the couple was arrested in January for their three -year -old daughter. After an investigation of five weeks, no indictment was filed against them.

In another case, Louise Gather, 38, from Leicestershire, received a letter from the police and said that she had to stop choosing mushrooms at a location of special scientific interest in a park after a complaint that takes care of it.

Mrs. Gather said she became aware that there was a problem in November when an officer arrived at her home.

She said she did not choose the rare Magpie Inkcaps in Bradgate Park, but conducted research.

Mrs. Gather was told to adhere to a report from the community resolution – an informal agreement between a complainant and an alleged perpetrator – to prevent them from receiving a criminal record.

In a post on social media, she said: 'The whole thing feels a bit stupid. I don't think a lot of common sense has been used.

“It was a bit exaggerated to send a policeman to my house, especially because I didn't choose anything from the park.”

Mr. Philp criticized the police for their pretended attitude and a total waste of police time '.

He said: “These matters show that the police are completely wrong. The police would not waste the time and resources that harm innocent members of the public about online comments that clearly do not come close to the criminal threshold. '

He added: 'I want to see the police ruthlessly spend his time ruthlessly with investigating every real crime and catching real criminals.

“This is what the police exists to do. They must stop checking hurt feelings. '

In the same area, a group of thieves and a gang that children attacked are still loose, loose after it was revealed that the police had not detected.

The incidents are said to have seen a few teenage boys and a girl in December 2024, while three men left a resident after they had broken into his property last November.

Detectives claim to investigate the crimes, but have not yet identified suspects.

Conservative MP Sir David Davis also agreed that the police had to give a priority to serious crime.

He said: 'Theft, burglary and violent crime are where people want the police to concentrate.

'One of the great aspects of the history of Great Britain is that we had a police who traditionally did not interfere with the affairs of freedom of expression.

“But since the end of the pandemic this has changed and we now have political correctness hysteria.”

Regarding the investigation into alleged mushroom picking, a spokesperson for the Leicestershire police said: 'Questions were made in the report and an officer visited the home address of the woman, where a community resolution was issued with regard to the violation.

“Bradgate Park is a location of special scientific interest, which is covered by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and Nature Conservation Act 2004.”

With regard to the couple arrested about intimidation, a spokesperson for the Hertfordshire police said: 'The arrests were needed to fully investigate the allegations, such as routine in such cases.

“After further investigations, officers were of the opinion that no further action should be taken because of insufficient evidence.”
