A murderer of six children was 'attacked in prison', leaving him 'battered and bruised' in a brutal prison.
Mick Philpott, who was convicted of the death of his six children after a horror fire in Derby in 2012, was ambushed by another prisoner from behind with a metal container.
The 68-year-old was reportedly left with bruises and nodules on his head after the prisoner hit him in HMP Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
A source said the sun said: 'Philpott was in a bad way after the attack – damaged and bruised and with two large and noticeable nodules on the back of his head.
“The other boy hit him and hit him a few times from behind.
They continue: 'Philpott had a lot of pity with herself after the attack but nobody had a lot of sympathy. That is reserved for the children he killed. '
They added that he was treated in prison instead of being brought to the hospital.
In May 2012, Philpott stabbed his house with six of his children. After years of campaign, it was an extreme conspiracy that he invented to get a bigger house from the council.
Five of his children – Jade, 10, John, Nine, Jack, Seven, Jesse, Six and Jayden, five – died on the spot while the 13 -year -old Duwayne died two days later in the hospital. All died in breathing in smoke.

Philpott started the fire with wife Miread, who also denies starting the fire despite the fact that he is convicted and imprisoned for crime, hoping to get a larger house.
Philpott even appeared on the Jeremy Kyle Show, where he defended both his wife and mistress at the same time pregnant.
In another brush with public familiarity, Philpott participated in a TV documentary about benefit claimers, where he was seen volatile in 2008 and was questioned by former MP Ann Widdecombe.
His lifestyle continued until his relationship with Willis broke and she moved the parental home with their five children.
This led him to come up with a plan to recover custody and at the same time protect a larger property for his extensive breeding.
Together with his wife and Paul Mosley, a family friend who was unveiled in court, a sexual relationship with Miread, Philpott was planning to be set on fire on 11 May 2012 and to frame Willis for arson.
His intention was to save the sleeping children who still lived with him through a window upstairs, but the plan went wrong disastrous after too much gasoline had been used and the fire was burned out of hand.

Philpott, who had previously been put in prison because he had stabbed his schoolgirl enthusiast 27 times, won a web of lies trying to get away with the crime and even deported to get 'quickly' from generous donations of the local community that was intended to pay for the funerals of his children.
In the days that followed on the fire, Philott started his extensive list to seem flawless and even appeared at a press conference that was attractive for information.

During fourteen days of supervision in the hotel where they were set up by the police in May, the couple whispering about the case, where Philott was recorded that he told his wife to 'keep your story'.
They were charged by the police on 30 May in connection with the dead and Mosley was arrested in the following months, after he told a friend that the plan had been for him to save the children.
The police initially accused the trio of murder, but lowered it to manslaughter because the defendants did not intend to kill the six young people, despite their nauseous reckless actions.
Miread was sentenced to 17 years in prison and only half of it served before her release in November 2020.
When she was photographed in March 2021. The then 39-year-old had a dark hair color and a tattoo for her son Jayden, whom she called 'Miracle Baby' during her trial because he was born early for six weeks.
At the time, friends said she 'very much hoped for a new start' and had a new identity.
