A student at the University of Minnesota and another at the University of Alabama was held last week by American immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) while President Donald Trump will perform his campus throughout the country.
Alireza Doroudi, a doctoral student from Iran who studied mechanical engineering in Alabama, was detained on Tuesday around 5 am by Ice.
A non-intensified student who attended the University of Minnesota was also held on Thursday by ICE in a residence outside the campus, the school said in an e-mail to staff and students.
The student is not mentioned and it is unclear where they come from. The school said the student goes to the Twin Cities Campus under the Carlson School of Management.
In an update from the university on Friday, the school said that “it had no prior knowledge of this incident and had no information with federal authorities before it took place.”
A spokesperson for the school told DailyMail.com: “We currently have no updates further than what we have already been able to share about the situation.”
The two arrests come after Tufts -graduate Rumeysa Ozturk, 30, was sensational this week and was thrown into ice detention.
Alireza Doroudi entered the US on an F-1 student visa that was published by the American embassy in Oman in January 2023, but after six months in the States it was withdrawn, the Crimson White reported.

Despite the fact that I contacted International Student and Scientific Services (Isss) at the University of Alabama, who 'answered with confidence' that his case was 'not unusual or problematic and that he could remain legally in the US as long as he maintained his student status,' Doroudi was held last week.
The Department of Homeland Security said that because his student visa was withdrawn, Doroudi 'was' important concerns about national security'.
According to the ICE website, Doroudi is currently being held in the Jena/Lasalle Detention Facility in Louisiana.
David Rozas, Doroudi's lawyer, said ABC News that his client 'was not informed about accusations about important national security issues'.
Rozas said that the student “was not arrested for a crime, nor did he participate in anti-government protests.”
According to the federal court reports, no federal charges have been filed against him.
'He is legally present in the US and strives for his American dream by working on his PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
“He is also in the early stages of applying for an EB-1/adjustment of the status as a researcher with extraordinary power,” said Rozas.
In a statement after Doroudi's arrest, the school said that they will “follow all immigration laws and collaborate with the federal authorities.”

“The University of Alabama recently learned that a doctoral student was held out of the campus by the federal immigration authorities,” the school wrote.
'Limit federal privacy laws what can be shared about an individual student. International students who study at the university are valued members of the campus community and international student and scholareservices are available to help international students who have questions. '
The graduate trade union from the University of Minnesota organized a protest on Saturday outside the office of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services in the center of Minneapolis for the public student who was held.
Organizers said they were in solidarity with international students who are confronted with uncertain futures, while the new Trump government pursues an immigration determination that focuses on people with ties with American colleges and universities.
“An increasing number of international students is being held without the right process throughout the country,” said leaders from the University of Minnesota graduated trade union of the Electrical 1105 trade union in a statement.
'These constitutional violations are part of a larger plan to remove our rights from us, starting with immigrants. It won't stop there. '
A rally and press conference is planned for Monday in the afternoon outside Morrill Hall.
'An attack on us is an attack on all of us. We continue to commit ourselves to protecting our international graduated employees, our civil liberties and the principles of academic freedom, “the organization said.
Local government officials also went to social media and call on ice and domestic security to release the student's details.
