King Charles will return to public commitments after he was admitted to the hospital for side effects of his cancer treatment.
De Vorst, 76, enjoyed a 'soothing' weekend in Highgrove and is back to a relatively normal working week after his hospitalization last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed.
After enjoying a wonderful spring weekend on his beloved Gloucestershire estate, his Majesty returns to Windsor Castle today to pick up tasks again, including a 'regular mix of public engagement, state tasks and private meetings'.
Last Thursday, Charles underwent observation in the hospital after suffering from side effects as a result of his continuous treatment of cancer.
He was later released and went home to Clarence House, but was forced to cancel three meetings that day and another four public engagements in Birmingham on Friday, which caused further fears for his health.
Although family members, including his wife, Queen Camilla, have encouraged him to slow down, Charles would feel good and would like to go back to work.
Sources insisted on last week's hospitalization in the London Clinic was a 'small bump' in his positive way to recovery after he had an unknown form of cancer in January last year.
His treatment will continue for the near future, it is understood.

Charles will now carry out an Investital in Windsor Castle on Tuesday, a mix of official tasks and meetings in Buckingham Palace, including his weekly public with the Prime Minister on Wednesday, who met three new ambassadors on Thursday and entrepreneurship in London and Windsor by the end of the week.
He will also prepare for next week's busy state visit to Italy with his wife on Friday.
One or two extra agreements for this week are 'resistance' to guarantee a suitable balance prior to a busy program abroad, sources confirmed.
But they insisted that other changes were minimal.
Charles was spotted on Friday and left Clarence House, where he seemed to be in a good mood, smiling and waving at benefactors of a black Audi.
Large crowds, including members of the public and photographers, watched while Charles was driven out of his residence in London on Friday around 10.30 am.
Buckingham Palace said last Thursday in a statement: 'After the planned and continuous medical treatment for cancer this morning, the king experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in the hospital.
“The afternoon assignments of his Majesty were therefore postponed.”
The palace added: 'His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure the diary of tomorrow (Friday) is also again planned.
“His Majesty would like to send his apologies to all those who can be uncomfortable or disappointed by this.”
Charles was diagnosed with a non-known form of cancer in February 2024 and returned to public tasks in April despite still a weekly treatment.
He has had a busy series of engines this month, including a reception for media on Wednesday evening after a visit to a soil exhibition during the day, and will pay a historical state visit to Italy in 10 days.
It is, however, understood that the overseas tour with the queen from 7 to 10 April, making Charles the first British sovereign to appeal to both houses of the Italian parliament, is expected to continue as planned.
Earlier this month, the King paid a whirlwind three-day visit to Northern Ireland with Camilla, and earlier in March the high-profile audience organized with important political figures, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zensky, departing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the new Canadian Mark Carney.
Charles, known as a workaholic, would have thrive in recent months by performing public and national tasks and regards them as a major advantage of his overall well -being.
His long -term visit to Australia and Samoa last fall was described as the 'Perfect Tonic' for the prince.
Since his diagnosis last year it is assumed that the king's diary has been developed at all stages in full consultation with his medical team to protect his recovery and give priority.
Sources emphasized that the hospital visit was not a major development and no further updates are expected about the health of the king, with small changes in his diary that may be needed next week in due course.
