The message was clearly received. When confirming the departure of Vermes on Monday, the team announced that long-term assistant Kerry Zavagnin will be interim manager.
It is still to be seen whether Mahomes' hunks in the sports world can help convince an established name to take over his MLS team and send the Western Conference classification.
Mahomes and Vrouw Brittany are also partial owners of the Stroom by Kansas City, the women's football team.
Last season in MLS, Mahomes met famous Lionel Messi – generally considered the best football player ever – when Sporting KC Inter Miami organized in Arrowhead Stadium.
