Anthony Albanese has been hit back at the Trump government and says that her concerns about the Australian policy 'are not for negotiation'.
The most important problems that the US are trying to influence the threat of rates include pharmaceutical products, biosafility and the negotiating code of the news media.
But during the campaign in South Australia, Mr Albanese said on Tuesday morning that “those issues are not justified for negotiating the Australian government.”
“We will defend the interests of Australia. The idea that we would weaken the biosafety laws is like cutting your nose to wake your face, “he said.
'To defend exports that less than 5 percent of Australia export, you would undermine our biosafety system. Not on my watch.
'I clearly indicated that Australia is not negotiating the pharmaceutical benefit schedule. We are not negotiating the negotiation code of the news. We will not undermine our bio -safety. '
New 25 percent rates for Australian steel and aluminum export to the US came into force on 12 March – but Trump will impose extra rates of a maximum of 25 percent on agriculture and pharmaceutical imports in the US on Wednesday.
It led to a new negotiation round with Australia, which tried to secure an exemption.

American manufacturers of medicines had expressed their concern about the (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) that undermine wholesale prices that they would otherwise have been able to count chemists.
Trump can try to force Australia to revise the scheme, which threatens the future of cheap medicines.
But Mr Albanese made it clear on Tuesday that the PBS would be of the table in any conversations.
