A prison of prison is said to have given a £ 12,000 Mercedes by a prisoner with whom she had a relationship, her trial told today that she had a 'hands-on' management style.
'Petite, Blond and Bubbly' Kerri Pegg, 42, would be in a relationship with Anthony Saunderson in a relationship when he looked a prison sentence for drug violations at HMP Kirkham in Lancashire in 2018.
After his release, Saunderson used the name Jesse Pinkman, a meth dealer in the American crime drama that break badly, during secret communication with other criminals, jury members were told.
Pegg, reportedly to be a 'rising star' after he has come to the prison service as a graduate intern, would have signed the early release of Saunderson without authority.
The jury of the Preston Crown Court has heard that she received the Mercedes that Saunderson paid with 18 packs of amphetamine.
Pegg, Van Orrell, Wigan, the court today told that she had spent eight years in the probation service before she applied for a place at the Graduate Scheme of the prison service.
During the work at HMP Liverpool, the staff was aware that she had had a breast improvement procedure and had set up limited tasks for a while to recover, she said.

Pegg told the jury that she thought the prison of Kirkham – who has around 500 prisoners – would be 'progressive' after she joined 2018.

'I thought it would suit my style and I would help to reduce bullying and violence.
“The governor told me he wanted someone who responded more to the cultural issues. The management was dictated by the uniformed staff.
'I have always had a style of works where I have a lot of contact with the prisoners.
'It stems from my work with the probation service.
'I have always had contact with prisoners who needed some feedback and consultation.
'Prisoners seem to be appreciated by someone who would give him some time.
“They became frustrated and it was important for them.
“I had prisoners who came to visit me every day and I would spend time talking to them.”

She denied that Saunderson, who is now in prison for drug offenses, had 'some special access'.
Pegg said, “My door was always open.”
She was asked to be challenged during a meeting in December 2017 by a superior officer at HMP Liverpool about an alleged relationship with a member of the criminal brotherhood.
Pegg denied that she once had such a relationship and whether her said more than more: “I always choose that kind of boys.”
She also denied that during the meeting about the Judgment of the district court She was asked about her choice of friends and her low self -respect.
Pegg admitted that she had taken free time from work in prison a few months earlier to have a breast improvement.
But she denied that she had offered them to 'remove' them during the meeting.
PEGG admitted that she had signed 'release on a temporary license' forms, known as Rotl's, including those for Saunderson.
She said that temporary release was customary for prisoners who approached the end of their sentence and that they would have signed more than 500 of them during her time in prison.
Pegg agreed that Saundeson's Rotl should have been signed alone in October 2018 by another officer, the governor of acting obligation.
But Pegg said she would have done this before if the paperwork was too late and it was not unusual.

Other messages on the phone also revealed the 'constant nature' of his relationship with PEGG, it is said.
She was arrested in her house on February 11, 2021 and later charged.
PEGG denies two charges of misconduct in a public office and a possession of criminal ownership.
