An investigation was conducted by the WCSO and Adelyn's death was established as a non-skiing accident.
“There was no false game involved and the Sheriff office is expanding our deepest condolences to all involved,” a WCSO spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
The child was a member of the Sugar Bowl-Raceteam, which participated in an Onder-12 Ski Championship in the Resort, reported the Reno Gazette Journal.
“The whole family Diamond Peak Ski Resort has been deeply struck by a tragedy that took place on Saturday 29 March 2025, in the resort,” Diamond Peak, about an hour from Reno, wrote in a statement.

The Van Adrelyn family, who called her 'Addie', mourns the early death of the beloved little girl.
“Addie was a radiant star who brought enormous joy and laughter to those who knew her,” wrote her aunt, Sabina Gimes, in a meal train post to ask food donations from Adelyn, Ivy and Matt, and her brother, Owen.
Sabina has also organized a GoFundMe page for funeral arrangements, which has already collected almost $ 18,900 of 125 contributions.
“The unexpected death of a child is an unimaginable loss that no one could prepare for,” she wrote.
“Please donate while putting their daughter to rest and take the time mourning and being with their son, Owen.”
The shocking death of Adrelyn only comes a few weeks after three friends were killed by an avalanche while he heli skiing in Alaska.
Heli-Kiers use helicopters to reach mountains in remote hinterland areas where there are no ski lifts. They ski or snowboard down.

David Linder, 39, from Florida; Charles Eppard, 39, from Montana; And Jeremy Leif, 38, from Minnesota have been identified as the three skiers who are assumed to be dead after an avalanche was beaten near Girdwood on 4 March in the neighborhood of Twentymile River.
The snow pile caused by the natural disaster was up to 100 feet deep, said troopers.
The skiers were probably buried at a depth of more than 30 feet, Tracey Knutson, who operates the Chugach Powder Guides trip they were, The Associated Press told.
The avalanche seemed to start at about 3,500 feet and came to rest around 700 feet, Knutson said.
