A truck has hit several pedestrians in the center of Boston, leaving two people in a critical condition, including the driver.

The horror crash unfolded around 12.45 in Harrison and Kneeland Street in the Chinatown district of Massachusetts City.

Boston EMS said that four people with injuries were brought to the hospital, and two are in critical condition according to ABC -connected WCVB.

Two more people were treated on the spot, but refused to be taken to the hospital.

An aerial photo of the scene published by WCVB shows a Penske truck that was destroyed on a sidewalk with various firefighters nearby.

Penske is an American company that offers truck rental to move home.

Another image shows the truck outside of Great Wall Kitchen Supplies Store and Jiro's Sushi, surrounded by rubble strewn over the street.

The vehicle was badly damaged in the impact, crumbled with the facade.

The Boston police said it struck in a building before he fell.

Various emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks and police cruisers could be seen on the spot, which was dropped off with police tape.

“It was a bad accident, and hopefully those two people make it,” Boston told Deputy Fire Commander Steven Shaffer to the independent newsstation WHDH.

Shaffer added that rescuers had to open the top of the truck to free the driver.

The driver has not yet been identified.

The Boston police issued an advisory warning that Kneeland Street between Washington Street and Tyler Street was closed due to the crash 'with injuries'.

“Find an alternative route,” said the department.

This is a crushing news with updates to follow.
