Russia will be placed at the highest level of a government scheme aimed at protecting the UK against malignant foreign influence, Minister of Security has announced Jarvis.
The dictatorship of Vladimir Putin will be placed in the 'improved' layer of the Foreign influence registration scheme (FIRS), making it easier to tackle spies and villains in Britain.
It agrees with the Islamic Iran in the highest level of the scheme, including anyone who is instructed by a designated foreign state to carry out activities in the UK, such as criminal proxies, it must be registered or confronted in prison for five years.
Individuals and companies must register on the government website, such as applying for a passport or driver's license, and receive a three-month notification and a respondent time of when the scheme comes into effect.
But for those who do not register, it will allow intelligence services to prosecute them under a lower threshold than for more complex offenses such as spy.
Mr. Jarvis The Commons told this afternoon: 'Russia is an acute threat to British national security.
'In recent years, the hostile actions ranging from the use of a fatal nerve agent in Salisbury, espionage, arson and cyber attacks, including the aiming of British parliamentarians through spear -phishing campaigns.
“And it is clear that the illegal invasion of Russia in Ukraine has emphasized its intention to undermine European and global safety.”

Jarvis told the Commons this afternoon: “Russia is an acute threat to British national security.”

He added: 'The improved level of the scheme is specifically designed to shed light on activities aimed by those foreign powers or entities whose activities pose a threat to the safety and interests of the UK.
'It enables the government to specify those foreign powers that pose the greatest threat to our society to guarantee a much broader range of activities than just the political layer. It will offer an important tool for the detection and disruption of harmful activities against our country. '
The registration schedule will go live on July 1, Mr Jarvis told MPs.
