A stalker that made Strictly Come Dancing Star Shirley Ballas' Life Hell during a horror six -year -old test was spared today after a court heard that he believed that she was his aunt.
Kyle Shaw, 37, from Wirral, was told by his own mother that his father was the former dancer and the brother of choreographer David Rich, who was in December 2003 in 20 years old.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that he was obsessed with Mrs. Ballas, bombarded her with messages on social media and suggested that she was responsible for her brother's death during the 'disturbing' six -year campaign.
In one message, posted on Instagram, in October 2020, Shaw wrote: “You have ruined my life, I will ruin yours and everyone around you.”
Ballas, 64, was so afraid that she stimulated security at her home and work, stopped taking public transport or staying in hotels and was even forced to move her 86-year-old mother, Audrey Rich, to a new home away from Wirral after Shaw approached her in a supermarket.
But Shaw was allowed to run free today after he had been handed over a 20 -month prison sentence for 20 months – and a lifelong restrictive order that forbids him to contact the strict judge.
Judhe Woodhall said to Shaw: 'This is clearly not a case in which immediate prison sentence will significantly influence others. Given your mental disorders, it is clear that imprisonment will influence you stronger than many others.
'These types of offenses are usually of such a seriousness that the correct punishment can only be achieved by an immediate guardian. Your bail conditions seem to have had some success.

Shaw burst into tears when he learned his fate and was heard from a family member: “I thought I was going down.”
He will also be obliged to complete the rehabilitation activity for up to 20 days and a 12 -month drug rehabilitation program.
The judge had previously heard that Shaw had been diagnosed with 'complex mental health' problems that had hit him since the age of seven.
He admitted for the first time that Ballas Stalken between 31 August 2017 and 29 November 2023.
He also admitted that he had the possession of cannabis and received conditional bail prior to today's hearing.
Shaw was depicted this morning to arrive at Liverpool Crown Court in a facial cladding, sunglasses and hat, and saw a cigarette smoking.
The stalker, dressed in a white shirt and black tie, broke down in tears when details were set out of his insulting.
Referring to an image of her house, placed by Shaw on X, said Nicola Daley, continued,: “Mrs Ballas was understandably scared, she was more concerned about her own safety because of the chance that he came to her home.
'Around that time, messages went on in an imminent way. As a result, she increased safety at work and at home. At that moment she was constantly worried and looked over her shoulder. '
Mrs Ballas also described with sleepless nights, the lawyer added.

In February a court heard Shaw making continuous attempts to contact Ballas and left her 'seriously alerted and saddened'.
The court heard that there was evidence that Shaw's mother had told him when he was a teenager that she had had a relationship with Mr. Rich and cases pregnant, but Judge Gary Woodhall added: “There is just as limited evidence that it is correct.”
In February, a court heard Shaw making continuous attempts to contact Ballas and let her “seriously alerted and sadly.”
Shaw posted on social media about the star, including uploading the image of her house, tried to contact her family, friends and colleagues, checked her online and TV and made appointments to attend her book tour.

It comes months after Shirley called the police when an alleged stalker took her out and took pictures of her house and car '. It is not known whether the incident was linked to Shaw.

The dancer had a successful Latin dance career before he came to the strictly coming dance panel in 2017 when she replaced the main judge Len Goodman.
The test of Shirley comes after Gavin Plumb was convicted of his attempts to kidnap and kill the host this morning, Holly Willoughby.
Shirley previously told how she is much more aware of her safety, because the test of Holly was made public.
She said: 'I am a very vigilant person. When I go, I am careful not to go alone. If it's at night, I'm always a bit nervous.
'There is what you read on social media, (and then), especially with Holly – her experiences. So yes, I don't take anything light.
'There are many great people, but there are a few strange people who are there. It is quite difficult and always makes you a little more precautionary. '
She continued: 'I always have George, the man who has driven me over the past five years, first stand out of the car, always scanning.
“I wouldn't say it's the healthiest. You know, I like to be a bit like a free bird, but we now come in times when you have to be more watchful for yourself. '
