The mother of a law student wrongly shot down in a failed drive-by shooting party, told how she screamed and fell on the floor when she was told she was killed.
Aya Hachem, 19, who dreamed of becoming a lawyer, had fled as a child out of violence in her native Libanon to settle with her family in Blackburn, Lancashire.
Miss Hachem was shot on 17 May 2020 during a trip to a nearby supermarket to buy food for when her family would quickly break their Ramadan that evening.
The student of the Salford University International Law died in the hospital after a bullet entered her left shoulder, passed through her body and embedded in a telegraph post.
Tyre Firm -Baas Feroz Suleman had arranged the execution of a rival businessman in broad daylight, but the shooter he had hired instead, shot innocent Miss Hachem dead.
The case plays in the first episode of a new four -part series of the documentary 'Murder Scene: The Incident Room' that will be broadcast tomorrow evening at 8 pm at 5 am.
Speaking in the program, Miss Hachem's mother Samar Salame told how the Lebanon family fled because of the threat of violence – but it followed them to the UK.
She said: 'From 2011 we lived there in Blackburn. It looked like a safe place and we came to the UK here because it is safe. Our country is not a safe place for us.

“We have never thought, shooting and guns will be in the UK. But there is no safe, no safety or somewhere. '
About the last time she saw Miss Hachem, Mrs. Salame added: 'I was at home, it was during Ramadan. I called her from her room – she woke up early – “Can you please bring some things?” And she said, “Yes, I'll go.”
'She sat on the stairs, wore her shoes and closed the door and went to Lidl. She didn't come back. '
Then, emotionally remembering the moment a police officer broke the news about her death, Mrs. Salame said: “They told us what happened. I started screaming.
“I fell on the floor. We did not believe what happened. It only took five minutes and she left us. '
Miss Hachem's father, Ismail Hachem, who does not appear in the documentary, fled violence in Lebanon in 2010 after being prosecuted because he was a member of the army.
His family joined him in the UK in the midst of fears for their lives and moved through the country before they finally settled in Blackburn.
Mrs. Salame said Miss Hachem wanted to be a lawyer to 'help others', adding that she studied very hard over the years, especially the last year of her life'.

Female outing Driver Judy Chapman, from Great Harwood, was imprisoned for 15 years during a later hearing in October 2021 after she was found guilty of the manslaughter of Miss Hachem
She continued: 'She's really an angel. She took care of me, for her father, brothers and her sister. Because of our situation, she was the one next to me to help me to support me. And now I have lost her.
“There is no life. I don't live. I no longer live, I am just a body without soul. It is very difficult to see young ladies in her age. Some of them are getting married. They work, they start their own lives. But she's not here. '
Ibrahim Hachem, the brother of Miss Hachem, also spoke about his grief about life without his sister.
He said: 'I remember how good she was from a sister and what was taken from us. The anger and sorrow just get bigger and bigger. Just took a nice person away from, not just us, the world, to be honest. She had so much potential. '
In August 2021, then 40, from Blackburn, was ordered to serve at least 34 years before he could be eligible for conditional release.

Mr Hachem also told the documentary about the murderers and their families 'laugh' during the procedure at the Preston Crown Court.
He said: 'What kind of mean beings are you? They laughed in court, the families laughed with them. What kind of people are you? How can you be so disrespectful, so in common.
'How can you be so materialistic? Only fight because of money. You already have enough, you are already doing well in life. Why all this? '
Mr Hachem, however, added that there was 'any feeling of relief' when the sentences were transferred – and 'hopefully they will not come out before they are old or dead'.
The intended target in the shooting was Pachah Khan, 31, owner of Quickshine Car Wash, who made Suleman, the boss of neighboring RI tires, angry, when his company started selling tires and became a direct competitor.
A bitter feud developed and Suleman ordered Mr Khan's execution and told his ally Hussain to recruit a murderer.
Hitman Raja, in Manchester and his driver Ennis were assigned the task.

Abubakr Satia bought a silver Toyota Avensis for only £ 300, funded by his friend Suleman, who was used by Raja and Ennis on the day of the shooting.
Judy Chapman, 26, who was convicted of manslaughter for her involvement, drove the shooter and driver from Bolton with her friend, Uthman Satia, as a passenger at the front. She then gathered the couple after the shooting.
Manzoor made sure that the unreliable Avensis could be used after he started the vehicle up and let the engine run.

Manzoor and the Satia brothers told the jury that they were all innocent dupes, where Cocaine -Laafde Uthman Satia claimed that he thought he was transporting two men for a test drive from the Avensis.
But the jury lasted less than four hours to reject their version of events and to condemn the seven male defendants from the murder of Miss Hachem and the attempted murder of Mr. Khan.
Raja, who tried to pursue his payment after the murder, apologized for lying evidence. In a letter to the judge, he said that he was “in denial” and said he would live with “shame and regret.”
Chapman, from Great Harwood, was imprisoned for 15 years during a later hearing in October 2021 after she was found guilty of the manslaughter of Miss Hachem. She was released from murder and attempted murder.
About 18 months later in March 2023, Junior Oway, 42, from Manchester, was convicted of murder and the attempted murder of the intended target Mr Khan after a separate trial.
But Suhayl Suleman, 39, from Blackburn, who was also on trial for murder and attempted murder, was released from both charges.
