Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has closed the 'completely unfounded' rates of Donald Trump, but said that Australia will not answer.
Donald Trump delivered his 'Liberation Day' address at 7 am (AEDT) on Thursday morning with Australia between different countries chosen by the US president when he announced new global rates.
“It is the American people who will pay the biggest prize for these unjustified rates,” said Mr Albanese Thursday.
The Trump government has released a table with mutual rates after the announcement of the president, which shows that Vietnam and Cambodia would be the worst affected countries.
Australia will combine a rate of at least 10 percent on all its goods that have been exported to the US.
'Australia will not answer: That is why our government will not try to impose mutual rates.
“We will not participate in a race to the soil that leads to higher prices and slower growth.”
The Australia-US Free Trade Agreement, which was signed two decades ago, previously prevented rates from being applied to goods sent abroad.

During his speech, Donald Trump focused on the prohibition of Australia on the import of new beef.
“Australia prohibits – and they are great people, and great everything – but they forbid American beef,” he said.
'Yet last year we only imported $ 3 billion Australian beef last year.
“They don't take any of us beef.
“They don't want it because they don't want it to influence their farmers and you know, I don't blame them, but we're doing the same now at midnight tonight, I would say.”
Data from meat and cattle in Australia showed that the US was the largest market in Australia for the export of beef in 2024, so that it was placed well for Japan, South Korea and China.
Of the beef sent to the United States, 96 percent of them was the slimmer, grass -fed variety that was cooled or frozen.
More come.
