Peter Dutton was beaten as a 'hypocritical' because he said that if he was chosen as prime minister, he would base himself on the Kirribilli house in Sydney instead of Canberra, proposing to work for civil servants from home.
The opposition leader was grilled by the hosts of the Triple M breakfast show on Wednesday after it was announced that the coalition would force federal officials to force them back in the office five days a week if they are chosen.
Triple M -Radio presenter Mick Molloy asked: “Are you the first PM that works from home?”
“I don't think it matters where I am,” he replied.
“Wherever you are, wherever you live, it doesn't matter.”
Earlier in the week he told the Kyle and Jackie O Show: 'You have the choice between Kirribilli or live in Canberra. I think I will take Sydney every day to live in Canberra. '
Mr Dutton was accused of double standards by saying that he could base himself on the house of Sydney Harbor-Front and Canberra, but will not give officials the same WFH opportunity.
A furious commentator described him as an 'F *** ING hypocritical'.

“He can go to Canberra every weekday and not be allowed to work from home according to his own rule,” they wrote online.
“Peter Dutton aan de Kaak from a distance civil servant while planning to rule from a house on the water is far from parliament as a lifeguard who shouts:” No swimming! ” While he floats on an inflatable lounge chair, another wrote.
A third noticed: 'Certainly not. He said he doesn't want people to work from home. '
Several politicians based in Canberra touch Mr Dutton about his comments, including independent senator David Pocock.
“Canberrans loves the Bush capital and we have to have leaders who celebrate, don't play cheap politics that are doing pot photos on it,” said Pocock.

“If Mr. Dutton does not want the lodge, I am sure that Canberrans can vote in a way that does not give him that option.”
The Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told Perth's Nova FM that he thought that the opposition leader 'showed a bit of recklessness' with admission.
“The Prime Minister's home is of course the lodge,” said Mr. Albanese. “Not Kirribilli.”
Only a handful of prime ministers have chosen to live in Kirribilli House above the lodge, including liberal leaders John Howard and Scott Morrison, who both came from Sydney.
While the lodge is the primary house for the prime minister, Kirribilli House serves as a secondary official home and was last occupied by Mr. Morrison in 2022.
Albanian, who also comes from Sydney, used it for functions, but is not permanently based there.
Kirribilli House is a Gothic style mansion on the north coast of Sydney Harbor, opposite the Opera House.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mr Dutton's office for comment.
