A woman from Pennsylvania who wrongly accused an innocent man of trying and abducting was sentenced to less than two years in prison.
Anjela Borisova Urumova, 20, submitted a false police report against the 41-year-old Daniel Pierson. The claims Pierson ended up in prison for a month on a $ 1 million bail and he was accused of several crimes.
The story of Urumova turned out to be inconsistent and contradictory after an investigation, which eventually led to her plea guilty of lying in January.
She received her conviction on Tuesday April 1 from 45 days to 23 months.
In addition to her prison sentence, Judge Stephen Corr added a year conditionally and ordered her to undergo an evaluation of mental health, according to a press release from the office of Bucks County District Attorney.
Urumova was instructed to pay $ 3,600 refund and not to have contact with the victim or his family.
“This was not only aimed at the false report on the victim and his family in unimaginable ways, but there is also an in -depth wrinkle effect,” said Jennifer Schorn public prosecutor, according to a press release.
“Such a crime can crush the confidence of the community in the system. It can jeopardize prosecution of legitimate crimes of sexual violence, “Schorn added.

“The persecution and punishment of this suspect for a malicious false report shows that this will not be tolerated.”
Pierson was in court with his wife and mother, who did not want to give statements because the case was still too emotional for them.
“In this case, she focused on an innocent man and accused him of one of the worst crimes that a person can be accused of,” said main representative Da Kristin M. Mcelroy.
Urumova had accused Pierson of pulling her pants down and hitting her in the face on April 16, 2024, outside a supermarket.
But when the investigation was unraveled, it was clear to detectives that the story did not add.
After assessing security images of several retailers in the field of supposed attack and forensic proof of Urumova's mobile phone data, a detective discovered with the office of the DA 'Multiple inconsistency'.
Urumova was confronted with authorities and 'admitted that she was lying over the entire incident,' confirmed that she had not attacked anyone, said public prosecutors.
She argued guilty of seven crime charges: one counts each of false alarm to an agency of public safety and tampering with or manufactures physical evidence, two counts of false reports and three counts of non -weaning falsification to authorities.

'It simply makes this case so more serious that this woman claimed to be a victim and used the system, I don't even know what purpose this system used to focus a man she didn't know. I hope it has no hurifying effect on women, but it's a concern, “said chief advisor Mcelroy
Urumova claimed to have 'specifically focused' and have identified Pierson as her attacker because she had seen 'him and the truck in the past' and was able to describe him and the vehicle to the police.
Her description of the dark blue Ford F-150 pick-up detailed a 'thin blue line' sticker on the rear window with visible dents and rust from the outside.
The injury to her face was reportedly due to a fight with a family member.
Pierson was freed after her recognition of lying about the attack and the charges were withdrawn.
“I am incredibly grateful for the work that law enforcement did in this case to go to what happened, but it cannot change that a man slept in a cell for a crime that he did not commit for 31 days,” said Mcelroy.
Moreover, Pierson's children saw that their father was being arrested and his family protested against his innocence for his freedom, Mcelroy added, according to the press release.
Mcelroy promoted cases such as these the stories of women who experience truthfully experience sexual crimes.
She encouraged those who experienced sexual crimes to “come forward” and added: “It must be documented, investigated and they must be heard, and they should not be silenced with fear when they see things like this.”
'It simply makes this case so more serious that this woman claimed to be a victim and used the system, I don't even know what purpose this system used to focus a man she didn't know. I hope it has no horrifying effect on women, but it is a concern. '
Urumova was booked in Bucks County Correctional Facility, according to the press release.
