A woman was shot by the police during a dramatic confrontation in Melbourne.
The 29-year-old woman was reportedly armed with a gun when she was stopped by officers on Police Road in Mulgrave, in the southeast of the city, at 5.30 am on Friday.
Victoria's police said the woman had been in a car that avoided the police before it was intercepted.
The woman was taken to the hospital with non-lifferring injuries of the upper body.
She remains under police guard.
A 27-year-old Noble Park-Man was also arrested on the spot.
Victoria's police said that the exact circumstances of the incident still have to be determined.
