This morning there was traffic chaos in the West Midlands thanks to the grim discovery and an earlier crash that both led to long queues.
The remains were discovered between nodes two and three, between Quinton and Oldbury, with the police on site.
According to National Motorways, long delays of at least 45 minutes are seen when the closure is approached.
Separately, a 'serious' collision de M5 has also closed between Junction One in West Bromwich and the M6.
Emergency services rushed to the road, where two motorcyclists with serious injuries were found.

Emergency services are this morning on two scenes on the M5 after a serious collision and finding a body
West Midlands ambulance service was called up at 9.55 am for reports of a collision just after Junction 1 of the M5 Northbound in West Bromwich.
Two ambulances, a paramedical officer, a merit trauma doctor and paramedic for critical care were all sent to the scene.
A spokeswoman for an ambulance service in West Midlands says: 'Upon arrival, crews found motorcyclists, both men, who needed medical help.
'Ambulance personnel treated both patients for serious injury.
“A man was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the second man was transferred to Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital for further treatment.”
CCTV cameras show long queues of traffic in both directions on the closing points.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands police said: 'We are at the location of two incidents on the M5 and it is currently closed in both directions in Oldbury/Quinton.
'It is closed J3 in Quinton to J2 in Oldbury after a body was found in the road. After a separate collision it is closed to the north between J3 and the M6. '
