A man who raped a woman in a park and filmed the attack before sending clips to other people was imprisoned after he tried to tell a court that his victim had raped him.
Gagandep Gulati, 20, found his victim only on the Jubilee square of Leicester in September last year before she forced her to Castle Gardens Park, a remote area in the city.
Once there, he sexually abused and raped the young woman while filming the attack on his phone. He then sent images of his crime to others.
The victim reported the attack to the police and investigators used CCTV images to trace her path, so that the movements of Gulati were eventually traced.
The case was examined by the signal team of the Leicestershire police, which specializes in rape and serious sexual violence cases.
When detective Matt Smith visited the accommodation where Gulati remained to conduct further investigation, the police say that he immediately recognized him from the images and arrested him.
Gulati, originally from Leicester, was accused of one count of rape, one count of mistreatment through penetration, one count of sexual violence and one count of sharing an intimate film.
In interview, Gulati tried to claim that he had been sexually abused by the victim and that she was the one who raped him.

He continued his lies in the witness bank, but was convicted of all charges to the Leicester Crown Court.
Gulati was imprisoned for six years on Friday and placed in the sex offense register for life.
DC Smith said: 'Even during cross investigation, Gulati tried to claim that the victim had set up sexual activity and tried to blame her for the violation.
'He has not shown no regrets for his actions, namely to deliberately focus a young woman while she was alone for his own sexual satisfaction.
“The victim has shown enormous courage by reliving her test by reliving the process.”
