White Lotus star Carrie Coon responded to Meghan McCain after the ugly spit of the duo about President Donald Trump.
McCain considered boycotting the show after Coon called her on X in response to a post with support for Trump.
Coon's character in the show was involved in one of the most viral scenes, in which three childhood friends started to discuss politics about a bottle of wine and one of the women revealed that she was a Maga supporter.
Now, in a Tell-All with the Hollywood Reporter prior to the season finale of the HBO show on Sunday, Coon has back in the conversation to reveal why McCain would probably have resonated with the scene.
“I think people like Meghan McCain and her community are really happy to see a conservative person on television,” she said.
“I have conservative people in my life who contacted me to say that it was a great conversation, because I don't think it's Kate.”
After the joint address of Trump to the Congress at the beginning of March, McCain went to X to reveal that his speech had brought her to tears.

The father of McCain, the late Senator John McCain, died tragic of brain cancer in 2018.
While the McCain post was flooded with messages from confused critics who said that Trump had actually shortened financing for cancer research, Coon shared her own thoughts and wrote: “Who is going to tell her?”
Two days later, McCain hit back by sharing the grinning photo of Coon's colleague Leslie Bibb, who plays Trump supporting Kate, after she broke the news about her allegative to her friends in the scene.
She then said that she could not “decide if I had to look tonight, because one of the stars decided to tweet some nonsense nonsense.”
Bibb herself said that she found the Trump scene 'amazing', that show -maker Mike White praised for his 'creepy capacity to immediately be part of the Zeitgeist.'
Coon said that he “runs the line of what is too political,” because the duo revealed that the scene was actually written in 2022 – long before Trump was re -elected to the White House.

And White actually chose to call it back, leaving more of the Trump dialogue on the floor of the cut space.
“There was more in that conversation,” Coon revealed.
