“Let me be clear though. Real democracies function differently. The people of J&K came out in record numbers in the recently concluded free and fair elections. No amount of misinformation and misinformation will change the facts on the ground,” said Shukla, who was part of a parliamentary delegation. The Rajya Sabha MP advised Pakistan to engage more constructively in the UN, instead of using it for ‘divisiveness’ political agenda“.
The Pakistani delegation had accused India of spreading disinformation and lies about J&K. It was in response to this claim that Shukla used his right of reply to contradict Pakistan.
