India slams Pakistan for raising Kashmir issue at UN – Times of India
While giving India’s reply against Pakistan at the UN session on Tuesday, Shukla, without naming the neighbor, said “a delegation” which is “the practice of resorting to disinformation and disinformation,” used the august UN forum to spread lies, adding that it measures the world’s largest democracy by its own yardstick for spreading falsehoods.
“Let me be clear though. Real democracies function differently. The people of J&K came out in record numbers in the recently concluded free and fair elections. No amount of misinformation and misinformation will change the facts on the ground,” said Shukla, who was part of a parliamentary delegation. The Rajya Sabha MP advised Pakistan to engage more constructively in the UN, instead of using it for ‘divisiveness’ political agenda“.
The Pakistani delegation had accused India of spreading disinformation and lies about J&K. It was in response to this claim that Shukla used his right of reply to contradict Pakistan. Shukla, in his address to the Chairman, said: “I assure you and the (UN) Department of Global Communications of India of continued support for the activities and initiatives of the department. We will fight disinformation and disinformation together and have a positive and reliable impact on peace and a better world. .”
