NEW DELHI: At a time when the armed forces are looking to create a missile force, India is all set to soon test-drive a new long-range anti-ship ballistic missile, which would be capable of hitting moving warships or aircraft carriers at ranges of more than 1,000 km.
The ballistic missile is expected to be tested by the Defense Research and Development Organization in the coming days, defense sources told ANI.
The anti-ship ballistic missile could be launched from both warships and shore-based locations, the sources said.
The missile system is being developed for the Indian Navy and would give it the ability to neutralize enemy ships from long range, the sources said.
