Inside Ellen DeGeneres’ star-studded British neighborhood, where David, Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss live
Ellen DeGeneres’ recent move to England has placed her in the middle of an enclave of celebrities.
The TV presenter, 66, and her wife Portia de Rossi, 51, have moved to the Cotswolds, according to a new report in The coveras they joined a number of Hollywood stars fleeing the United States following Donald Trump’s election victory.
The couple now reportedly live in the rural part of South West England – also known as the A-list capital of Britain – which is about 100 miles from London.
The Cotswolds is a beautiful region known for its rolling hills and picturesque villages and countryside, often referred to as the ‘Heart of England’.
Their new neighborhood is also home to a number of A-listers, including David and Victoria Beckham – who have previously shared glimpses of their idyllic country life – Kate Moss, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Jeremy Clarkson, Stella Macartney and Damien Hirst, among many others.
The area – where the raunchy TV series Rivals takes place – is even home to royal families, as King Charles owns Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

Kate Winslet also once had a country house in the area, although it is unclear whether she still lives there, and it has been rumored for years that Hugh Grant has a small hideaway in the Cotswolds.
Previously, a study showed that the region is home to more stars per hectare than anywhere outside the capital.
There are around 50 celebrities with hideouts in rural Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
The area is popular with celebrities who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of London, which would make sense for DeGeneres and Rossi since they had already tried to avoid Los Angeles by moving to Montecito in Santa Barbara County, about 75 miles from LA.
The Cotswold hills extend across the counties of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, parts of Wiltshire, Somerset, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
In the area you will find charming towns and villages built from Cotswold stone.
Films partly shot in the Cotswolds or nearby include the Harry Potter series (Gloucester Cathedral), Bridget Jones’s Diary (Snowshill), Pride and Prejudice (Cheltenham Town Hall) and Braveheart (Cotswold Farm Park).
Last week, DeGeneres and de Rossi were spotted out and about a visit to Clarkson’s pub in the Cotswolds.

DeGeneres and de Rossi reportedly have no plans to return to the US.
To underscore the apparent permanence of the move, the couple plans to put their Montecito mansion on the market.
A person close to the former Ellen DeGeneres Show host claimed that she and De Rossi skipped town mainly in response to the 2024 presidential election.
DailyMail.com reached out to a former representative of DeGeneres for comment, but she no longer represents the comedian following the conclusion of her latest stand-up tour.
In October, The sun reported that the couple had purchased a Cotswolds estate, so their purchase predated the 2024 election.
However, after Trump’s victory, the married couple became “very disillusioned,” and one source claimed they then vowed to “get the hell out of the US,” according to sources who spoke to TMZ.
While many celebrities have threatened to leave the US in light of a Trump victory, most have not done so.
Stars including Cher, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Stone and Sophie Turner have all said they would consider leaving the US if Trump wins, although it is not clear whether any of them will actually do so.

America Ferrera is said to be considering a move to Britain, and Eva Longoria has discussed a move to Europe, although she made it clear that despite her disapproval of Trump, she had moved for international work.
The publication notes that DeGeneres was one of Vice President Kamala Harris’ known donors.
She donated $3,300 to the losing Democratic candidate, which is the maximum amount that can be donated directly to a candidate, although wealthy donors often get around contribution limits by donating much more to political action committees and super PACs.
Harris was tapped to replace President Biden as the Democratic nominee in July this year, and DeGeneres shared a message of support for her on social media in August.
Despite reportedly leaving the US due to the election and Donald Trump’s impending second administration, DeGeneres had plenty of reasons for a fresh start away from home.
Her career was tarnished – likely permanently – by allegations that she fostered a toxic workplace on the set of her eponymous daytime talk show, the final episode of which aired on May 26, 2022.
She delved into her persona non grata status in her stand-up special For Your Approval, which was released on Netflix in late September.
The comedian joked that she had been “kicked out of show business” in the special, which featured material about how she has been spending her time since her TV show ended.

According to The Wrap, DeGeneres and de Rossi have listed or will soon list their Bali-inspired Montecito mansion.
According to TMZ, they are still considering a possible asking price, but once they find one, the property will hit the market.
DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased the massive home in 2019 for a whopping $27 million.
The mansion features five bedrooms and ten bathrooms, over 8,188 square feet, and includes exotic features such as bamboo ceilings, flamed black limestone, and beautiful distressed oak floors.
