Inside the Beckhams’ new £60million mega-mansion. How Victoria plans to become the ‘Queen of Miami’, boost her label and keep up with Nicola Peltz’s parents, ALISON BOSHOFF and BARBARA MCMAHON reveal
As you’d expect given the £60 million price tag, there are luxury features such as a gym, home cinema and infinity pool. In addition, there is a rooftop lounge, a spa with a massage room, a waterfront terrace and a yacht dock, along with nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. Neighbors include pop stars Shakira and Bee Gee Barry Gibb.
No wonder the Beckhams reportedly fell instantly in love with this newly built “modern waterfront masterpiece” in Miami, Florida. The usually authoritative real estate website ‘Real Deal’ said this week that David and Victoria are the buyers of the spectacular mansion, and that the deal is ‘pending’.
A local real estate source said: ‘They made an offer and it was accepted. The plan is for them to move in early next year.’
If all goes according to plan — and there’s some debate over how far along the purchase is, as friends of the couple say they haven’t purchased the house “at this time” — this Miami mansion will be the largest asset in the yet already important home of the Beckhams. property portfolio consisting of a £31 million mansion in London’s Holland Park; a £12 million rural Cotswolds base and a spacious five-bedroom apartment in Miami, bought for around £18 million in 2020.

Going from an apartment in Miami – albeit in a beautiful Zaha Hadid-designed building adorned with balconies overlooking picturesque views – to this waterfront mega-mansion would certainly be a huge upgrade for the Beckhams.
And in a world where real estate is the ultimate arbiter of social status, an investment in an American ‘Beckingham Palace’ like this would announce that the couple has truly arrived in the city. Perhaps it is no coincidence that such a move up the property ladder would also propel the Beckhams into the social stratosphere occupied by their flashy in-laws, the billionaire Peltzes.
Corporate robber Nelson Peltz, the doting father of Brooklyn’s wife Nicola, indeed has quite the spread just a short helicopter ride away from Miami in Palm Beach.
His home – where he hosted the Beckhams for Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in 2022 – is worth £75 million and has direct access to the water and 27 bedrooms.
Relations between the two families have been testy at times, so it’s interesting to think that the Beckhams may be trying to keep up with the Peltzes.
There had been some reports of social discomfort in the run-up to the wedding, when it dawned on the Beckhams that their hosts had more social influence and wealth than they did.
For their part, the Peltzes — who are blessed with top-notch security — were apparently stunned when the Beckhams’ sitters asked for a tour of the house before the pre-wedding lunch.
Luckily, they’re all good friends now, but there’s no doubt that a grand new home would remind the Peltzes that they’re not the only players in town.
David’s social status has obviously been boosted by his co-ownership of the Inter Miami football team. Famous fans such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Prince Harry, who have seen the team and star player Lionel Messi, are proof that the venture is paying off and bringing the Beckhams into a new, powerful environment.
Well-known columnist Jose Lambiet, who has lived in Miami since 1996, said: ‘I don’t think people necessarily remember that David Beckham was a footballer. They now consider him a society man, and ownership of the football team has made him a stalwart in South Florida. Miami is a place where he and Victoria can feel comfortable because people here are used to famous faces – there are hundreds of celebrities.” As always with Brand Beckham, success for one half of the couple means success for the other half. A source close to the deal said last week: ‘I’m told the whole family has seen the deal and everyone loves it.
“Although it is David who has the working relationship in Miami, the impression from the brokers is that Victoria has pushed for the move.

‘What we hear is that she wants to have some kind of salon there where she can meet interesting famous and rich people. It will be a social scene, but the idea is that she can boost her fashion and makeup brands by leveraging those links.
“It seems like she wants to be the Queen of Miami and take advantage of all the celebrities the football club has to offer.”
The source adds that Victoria would like to meet Miami resident Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
It seems like this is an introduction easily made through Sanchez’s good friend Kim Kardashian, who already knows Victoria through Inter Miami, as Kim’s young son with Kanye West, Saint, is “soccer crazy” and has been watching matches while once walked onto the pitch holding Messi’s hand.
The source said: ‘Victoria loved their time in LA [when David was playing for LA Galaxy between 2007 and 2012] and misses the way she is respected as a designer in America. America is where the fashion scene is less snobbish than Europe, where she will never be accepted no matter how many shows she puts on during Paris Fashion Week.”
Jose Lambiet agrees. He says: ‘Miami has been a fashion capital for decades and Victoria will be a welcome addition.’ Significantly, there is no income tax in Florida. Unlike most US states, so many celebrities move there. Some of the hard work of establishing social ties in Miami has already been completed: David is best friends with singer Marc Anthony – formerly married to Jennifer Lopez – who lives in Miami and performed at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding.
Victoria has hung out in town with musicians Pharrell Williams and DJ Khaled, and is also on good terms with restaurateur David Grutman, his Brazilian model wife Isabela and her supermodel boyfriend Gisele Bundchen.
Lesley Abravanel, another observer of Miami society, says the city’s social group is “not positive” about the Beckhams and the furor following them around the world. The writer explains: ‘They have been here for some time and fit into the landscape. They are not that important at all – very quiet, very low
profile. The big story is that the neighbors think their new purchase could increase the value of their property.” Anyway, Victoria has previously said she “loves” the city and spent her 47th birthday there, exclaiming, “This place is everything!”
In addition to business, family also played a role in the Beckhams’ establishing more extensive ties in Florida. Although the plan appears to be to continue splitting their time between the US and Britain, a large family base could be put to good use by the jet-setting family. Brooklyn, 25, lives in LA with his wife Nicola, who is pursuing her dream of an acting career there, while he has just launched his Cloud 23 hot sauce company.
Younger son Cruz, 19, also lives mostly in Los Angeles, where he is pursuing a musical career, while Romeo, 22, is less established but appears to be pursuing a career as a fashion model, mainly in London. Miami is a five and a half hour flight from LA. Traveling between the two US cities is much less taxing than London to LA.
A house of this size in Miami could visit all the children and their wives and partners for as long as they wanted. The American football season runs from February to October, so David will want to spend as much time in Miami during those months. It makes sense for the Beckhams to make the city their American base.
Although Victoria and David have a dizzying array of commercial and social commitments, it is difficult to overstate how important the Miami dream has been to him. Jose Lambiet says: ‘He is already part of the furniture here and I think people have a very positive image of both Beckhams. They have a very nice family, they work hard and are self-made. These are the things Americans love.”
Last year, David said in an interview that setting up Inter Miami was the biggest challenge and triumph of his career. He said: ‘About eight or nine years before I retired, I knew I had to have a plan. At the time of my retirement, I flew to Miami the next day without any rest. I knew I had to start from the moment
I’m done playing.’ It took him eight years to make his dream come true and before the team played its first game. Three years later, Lionel Messi signed.
David, who was instrumental in the negotiations to land the Argentine star, said. ‘I come every morning at 7.30am to see Messi, to know that it is real.’ Watching Messi run away in the club’s signature pink stripe was, he said, “without a doubt” one of the best moments of his life. He is now thinking of launching a women’s side. The fact that Victoria and his family believe in his Miami dream must make it all the sweeter.
